Analog Brownshirts in Seattle

Republican State House of Representatives candidate Savun Neang (West Seattle) reports that someone is covering his yardsigns with Kerry signs:

Neang describes himself as

a survivor of the Communist Khmer Rouge regime “Killing Fields” [Democratic Kampuchea] where the Government controlled all businesses and people at work and home. Over 2 million Cambodians lost their lives during this ordeal, including 73 members of his family.
It's a slippery slope.

The current issue of alternative weekly newspaper The Stranger slips us even further down that slope with its endorsement of John Kerry:

George Bush is pure scum ... Four more years of Bush is a recipe for (further) disaster. We urge you to vote for the badass from Massachusetts.

And if Bush wins? Let's riot, you motherfuckers.

I wonder whether Dave Neiwert would consider these incidents "pseudo-fascism" or the real thing?

Meanwhile, I've moved The Stranger from our list of "Sound Institutions" to the list of "Unsound Institutions".

1. Can they be cited for incitement to riot?
ARGH.

I just want this election to be over already. I'm tired of the negativity and people not liking each other and...

2. I may support K-E but... THIS IS E-VIL. THIS IS WRONG. One more time: THIS IS E-VIL!

(Disclaimer: My father ran TWICE for Skagit County Commissioner and I helped him make his signs with the old fashioned paintball, so I know the effort & expense the gent placed here.)

3. I'm not sure what's sadder: the whining or the ham-handed Nazi smear.

Oh well, pot kettle black, I suppose.

4. "And if Bush wins? Let's riot, you motherfuckers."

Just keep runnin' your mouths with your threats.
Just keep it up.

5. Even in Washington every property owner is entitled to protect his or her property with appropriate force. So if the nutty lefties follow the Stranger editors' advice (and I would hope the editors have the guts to be out in front, but I sincerely doubt it), then all shop owners in Seattle should meet them with shotguns loaded with rock salt and rubber pellets (nonlethal but effective). Civil protest is fine, but if you are going to make yourself a real pain-in-the-ass by breaking the law and causing property damage, then meeting these losers with something calculated to cause a literal pain-in-the-ass is the least law abiding citizens can do.

6. JC's right... give it 'em back. This isn't fair ball what's going on here.

Like I said, it's E-VIL!
