Endorsements: Judicial Races

These are my endorsements for state Supreme Court and King County Superior Court on Tuesday's ballot. These endorsements reflect only my personal opinions and not necessarily those of other Sound Politics contributors.

State Supreme Court, Position #1: Jim Johnson. Johnson is an appellate attorney. His major cases are listed here. He is endorsed by responsible business groups, most Republicans and many Democrats. Opponent Mary Kay Becker is a former Democrat member of the state legislature who is endorsed by the government employee unions and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

State Supreme Court, Position #6: Richard Sanders may well be the greatest friend of civil liberties and limited government that we're likely to see on the state Supreme Court in our lifetime. Opponent Terry Sebring has nothing to offer but desperate, sleazy attack ads.

King County Superior Court Position 23: Andrea Darvas.

King County Superior Court Position 42: Chris Washington

1. Most of these look good, but I will not be voting for Andrea Darvas, primarily because she lists an endorsement by an abortion rights group on her voter's pamphlet statement.
