Recount Follies (ctd.)

Even though John Kerry didn't have the chance to recount and litigate his way into the White House, he's doing his bit to help try to steal the election for Christine Gregoire:

Former presidential candidate John Kerry contributed at least $200,000 of unused campaign contributions yesterday to help fellow Democrat Christine Gregoire keep the governor's race alive and pay for a statewide hand recount.
The P-I article propagates the Democrats' bogus arguments:
As justification for recount, Gregoire and the Democrats have cited voting "irregularities" in several counties and the fact that Rossi's margin of victory is well within the margin of error for mechanical counters.
Fact, my ass. I thought it was the media's job to question this sort of baloney. Sadly, the journalist who wrote that article must be too lazy even to read the blogs that are doing his job for him.

Meanwhile, Equine Posterior Man claims to have information that several tribes are going to put up $100 grand to help buy Gregoire another spin of the wheel. At least if she wins she won't be the mere Governor of Seattle, she could also be the Governor of the Muckleshoot Casino!

1. Well, maybe our little regional crisis just became a national one ...

2. Stefan, do you really think it is "sound commentary" using inflammatory language like "steal the election"? Theft is a felony. Are you really arguing that Gregoire is committing a felony by asking for a recount that is exactly provided that way in your constitution?

If you dont like this part of your constitution, then change it. But stop whining about its usage and how democrats are stealing. I find that equally inappropriate on the democrats side.

3. Stealing means taking something that rightfully belongs to someone else. The governorship rightfully belongs to Rossi. If CG wants to go for a hand recount --- demonstrably less accurate than the machine recount --- in order to take away the governorship from the rightfully elected governor, that is stealing the election.

4. Is Gregoire a name from Holland? That way we could call her a liberal dutchbag

5. Splugy,

Are you a xenophobe? or do you just have a crappy sense of humor?

CG was born in America, so she is an American. Trying to label people you don't like foreign irritants is plain wrong. Why is it so often Republicans feel the need to define 48% or so of the population as foriegners?

6. The law, as currently overlooked and sadly in need of updating, allows for a third and OBVIOUSLY MORE INACCURATE recount. Combine this with a candidate (Gre-Gore) that has no concern other than the pursuit of power, and then surround her with Democratic apologists, and yes, I'll say it, she is trying to steal the election.

If you don't agree with that conclusion, you can join another of the Dem's ridiculous publicity displays (like the candlelight vigil they held outside the Doubletree in Bellevue), and shed tears over "the death of democracy" (their words, not mine).

CONCEDE, CHRISTINE

7. It's "foreigners", not "foriegners". Before judging someone you don't know with your snobby elitism check Webster's dictionary and save yourself the embarrassment.

Take away your woeful sentence structure, p*ss poor grammaticism and misspelling and what do you have left to offer this topic? Absolutely nothing, "dude".

You judged Splugy but, then found the right to engage in GOP generalizations that you can not back up with polling data or empirical evidence.

I mean, your hate-post made about as much sense as a one-legged man at an ass-kicking contest.

8. It shouldn't surprise anyone that local tribes want Gregoire in the Governor's mansion. The tribes already have key Demos in their pockets in the House and Senate and Gregoire would be the trifecta and would give tribes the green light to get even more from this state.
Tribes already pay no gambling taxes, sales taxes, B+O taxes, get to keep all the cigarette taxes, get back gas taxes even though they drive their vehicles on the same roads we do and I could go on and on. The demos are like drug addicts. The tribes supply the money(drugs) the demos need to survive and the demos do the tribes bidding in the way of legislation and tax giveaways. Many believe Rossi would at least give businesses and taxpayers a fair shake unlike Gregoire and other key demos who are so cozy with the tribes it's sickening. (Chopp Chopp)
If Gregoire buys the election tribal giveaways will escalate and legislation will be brought forward to put all tribal competition (mini c a s i n o s) out of business along with thousands of other small businesses and Gregoire will sign it. Gregoire is enemy number one to thousands of businesses in this state and many had better wake up before they're put out of business. Unfortunately many small business owners have the "deer in the headlights look" about them and will just stand there and be run over by the pro tribal Demos, including Gregoire.

9. Dave - you are right on the money. Too many on our side have a naive, almost child-like faith in the good intentions of the Democrats and their supporters.

They are, in fact, attempting to steal this election. There can be no other interpretation of their insistence on recounting by hand, a method much less reliable than machines. After all, when I want to add up a column of numbers, I use a calculator or a spreadsheet. I don't do it manually because I am not as good at that task as machines that are designed for that specifically.

Further, if they insist on counting only select counties or precincts that they think will turn in their favor, then that is the height of hypocrisy. What happened to their mantra 'count every vote'? It's a bunch of BS, that's what.

The Democrats and their tribal and union allies are could care less about the good of this state - they are in it only for themselves and they will do whatever is necessary to hold on to power.

They are beneath contempt.

10. Why is it that only Republicans are always afraid to actually bring vote-counting to a conclusion?

Posted by: Nelson on December 2, 2004 09:24 AM
11. Actually, the Republicans wish vote-counting already was brought to a conclusion. The Dems want to keep it up until they win.

12. Mrs. Gregoire is truly a monster. She's so determined to drag WA through another recount that now she's brought this mess national attention by soliciting fund from John Kerry.

Hopefully the national blogosphere with the help of Michelle Malkin and others will bring more scorn upon this contemptable sore loser.

Mrs. Gregoire is losing Washington's trust by the minute. She'll have no luck governing this state if she manages to innacurately recount (steal) her way to a win.

All you gamblers out there, how's about sending Muckleshoot an email and telling them you won't be coming by anymore.

13. The vote count was brought to a conclusion. It's the Dems who don't like the conclusion it came to.

14. Unsaid by SOS Reed is this fact on punchcards and optical scan ballots. The more handling that goes on the more the chances of vote fraud.

A pencil can point a chad out and create an overvote. A stray mark near CG name on an optical ballot creates an vote or an overvote.

Would two votes a precinct cause a stir. I doubt it. especially in demo counties.

Yo, dude...why is it libs feel the need to define 51% of the population as racist?

16. In 25 years as an Attorney, I have helped stop a lot of voter fraud in multiple states. In my 4 years as a Prosecutor in another county, we sent 22 Demoncrats to prison for voter fraud. For 12 years, I have resided in Bexar County, San Antonio, Texas. During that time there has not been an instance of vote fraud by Republicans but we discovered 4 by Demoncrats. On the other hand, Travis County (Austin) is controlled by Demoncrats and has fraud problems every election.

King County (Seattle) is Demoncrat controlled. That means fraud by definition, so for those honest people in Washington state, May God help you. The Devil and the Demoncrats certainly will not.

17. Interesting article in Whistleblower Magazine, May, 2004..."How Democrats Steal Elections". In quoting attorney Tim Downs, who admitted the strategy and tactics, claimed: "I've taken several seats from you(the Republicans)across the United States. You get me within 100 votes and I can steal any election." He described three basic tactics...."The first rule is, you keep counting until you're ahead. And if that doesn't put you ahead, you recount, re-recount - you keep counting until you're ahead. If you're behind, then you've got nothing to lose."
Second..."the more times those ballots are handled, the more chance there is that chads will break loose" and hence disqualify the ballot. Third...."the minute you're ahead, you stop and declare yourself the victor. After that, you don't want the ballots handled any more, because some of the chads for your candidate might break loose. While you're behind it doesn't matter, but if you're ahead and more break off or become disqualified for your candidate, that's a bad thing."

Another favorite tactic is to ask election officials for ballots, "allegedly so they can look at it more closely." When operatives do, often they will bend or crinkle ballots covertly in an effort to break another chad loose and thus have the ballot thrown out.

If CG operatives go into punch card precincts/counties, expect some of these tactics to be used!!

18. South County, I don't think most Republicans are racist. I was refering of the tendancy of many Republican leaders of reffering to people in the Red America as "Real Americans" to the exclusion of the Latte-drinkers from Taxachuesetts (who are presumably a bunch of "fakes, phonies and frauds"-Bob Grant).

Bush himself refered derisively to certain regions of the country in an effort to raise up the voters from the Heartland (whom are always yelling at the Blue Staters about how humble they are.-Any David Brooks Column). Peace.

MK, On yr grammar/elitism critique... whatev's! And the rest of yr arguements makes little sense. My analysis of Spugly was based on what he wrote. If he apologized then my judgement would change. Therefore I am being opend minded, not judgemental.
