What she didn't know ...

Christine Gregoire claims that she didn't know about the Democrats' motion to the Supreme Court to count all of the previously rejected ballots:

Gregoire, a career attorney and three-term Democratic attorney general, said she didn't see the suit before it was filed and wasn't consulted
(Her own home page advocates the lawsuit)

Christine Gregoire claims that she didn't know about the 1996 memo from Sec. of State Ralph Munro stating he was advised by the AG not to count previously rejected ballots during a recount:

she said yesterday there is no written legal opinion from her office on the subject, either from 1996 or earlier
Parse that carefully: "no written legal opinion". But was there a verbal opinion to use the longstanding written opinion from a previous AG? It sounds like there was. According to someone familiar with standard operating procedures:
Ralph Munro -- although he doesn't recall the actual timeline -- says that someone in his office most certainly would have consulted with the AG's office & probably with the AAG who is assigned to the secretary of state's office. the AG's office would've had to have given its consent before Ralph would've put out that memo.
This sounds like a pattern. Have there been any other embarrassing revelations of which Gregoire has claimed ignorance? I'm glad you asked.

Christine Gregoire claimed that she didn't know about the botched appeal that cost the taxpayers $18 million and blamed it on one of her employees. She claimed that she didn't know that the non-independent investigation into the botched appeal fiasco wasn't supposed to be non-independent. She also claimed that she didn't know that her college sorority was segregated until after she pledged.

Is there anything that she will admit to knowing?

1. Stefan--good job but just the tip of the iceberg. This is why there are so many Dinocrats....and the number is growing with every new "I didn't know".
Again, I encourage those with any information about this recount to contact Rossi's campaign HQ...immediately. Once these County Auditors certify this hand recount...after the fact stories are pretty useless. And whatever you do, don't blab what might be important on these blogs. Certainly they are being monitored. There will be plenty of time for "war stories" after the hand recount is certified.
REMEMBER--Any Republican who tries to be the smartest guy on the "blog" could end up looking like a real donkey@!!!!

2. Ms. Gregoire must have gotten as far as the ringing phrase of 'plausible deniability' in law school before her attention was diverted to higher things.

3. Actually, it appears she made it past 'plausible deniability' and got mired in 'no controlling legal authority' - the course taught by law school drop-out Al Gore!

ballots be counted.well surprise dave ross had his
producer call all 39 county election chairman.
she got through to 37 of them, all 37 said of course
we check for signatures.

who is gregiore trying kid? saying she didnt
know of this stuff is like vince lombardi not
who bart starr is.but really robotcrats do a
little better job of finding out just who it
is your actually voting for.

5. Ralph Munro is correct. The AG's office has several attorneys assigned to the Secretary of State's office, just like other attorneys are assigned to other state agencies. They would certainly consult with counsel if they were going to be responsible for a recount. It is much more common for attorneys to give verbal opinions to their clients, than to give written opinions.
