The End of the Beginning

It has now been one week since the Revote!Rally in Olympia and the story continues to grow. Coverage has been steadfast from Michelle Malkin and the Wall Street Journal. The Economist has run the numbers and doesn’t like the results either – and now Brit Hume at FOX News Special Report has been welcomed to Shark’s World. We are fortunate indeed that someone of Stefan’s character has stepped up to take a leading role in all of this. I have met and spoken with him regularly through this process: never have I been more impressed by someone under these conditions. And one other thing about his character: I first ‘met’ The Shark when we butted heads over a local political issue. I wasn’t exactly nice. In fact, I called him a name on my blog. But this isn’t about ego for him, and the magnanimity of his establishing a friendship with me - going forward from that inauspicious beginning, says a lot about who he is.

Stefan Sharkansky’s training has been in statistics, mathematics, and computer science. One reason that mainstream media (“MSM”) has been slow to this story is that these are areas in which journalists are, well, unaccustomed (to say the least). Even Brit Hume had to twice go over some of the facts related to this controversy for his own edification during the interview today.

Through all of this, in chatting with the contributors to Sound Politics, we have been awed by you and your dedication to doing the right thing. From my perspective (and I am sure my fellow SP contributors join in this) the growth of this story has been a true testament to the character and patriotism of the people of the state of Washington. Because of you, this blog is an exercise in dedication to very real (and at-risk) principles of democracy and fair play. Fortunately, the “Dead Wood” Democrat opinion-makers desire to make this all seem like sour grapes,or some kind of W.T.O. protest (!), has fallen flat (but it must be admitted, Robert Jamieson Jr. at the P-I gave Shark a fair deal). And now the national MSM is beginning to report on this story.

Stefan Sharkansky’s first major television discussion of this issue was with which news outlet? That’s right, Brit Hume at FOX. Local media have done their best to ‘dis’ the concerns of Sound Politics readers. But despite the culture of this region, the ingrained prejudice, their spin on this story – it has been for naught, thanks to efforts by citizens – like at the Revote! Rally last week.

Be sure to catch the streaming audio of last week’s rally. Listen to the people involved. Hear the fervor with which Stefan is speaking – and catch the Revote!Rally here on TVW. (Stefan speaks at minute 48 into the stream.) Picture yourself getting involved next time. Remember what Winston Churchill said after the victory at Al Alamein: “Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”

2. Hey, Stefan! Who knew you were such a FOX?!!!

Great segment with Brit Hume...you were terrific!

3. Scott- Very well written! Your words are an encouragement to conservative activists everywhere, as are the ideas and perspectives so often expressed in SoundPolitics.

Shark- Your interview was great, I thought you fielded the questions very well, especially the more "legal" focused which asked about precedent!

The BIG PICTURE is emerging on SoundPolitics, namely that we are taking Washington State back! Responsible and responsive government will eventually return to this great state, and when that day comes, we will largely have SP to thanks for being a sounding board along the way!

But SP has become more than that for many- it has become an alternative Editorial Page for those who are tired of liberal spin! I'm afraid that the liberal "attack ANIMALS", however, will not give up without a fight, and we must certainly be aware of and respectful of the GREAT power they have in this state. Until the day we can really say Washington belongs to all of us, we must work tirelessly to spread the word, about this blog and other outlets (FOX) that broadcast, if not the whole truth, at least a more accurate portrayl of reality! JOIN THE REVOLUTION, JOIN THE RANT, AND JOIN THE RIGHT!!!

4. I wonder how many different states are represented by the different readers of this blog. I would guess the numbers are surprisingly high.

I have followed this fiasco since November from the great red state of Georgia and refuse to give up hope for you true Americans in Washington state.

Stefan you are awesome and a great patriot. I am one of your biggest fans. BTW you were awesome on FOX tonight.

5. I've been closely following this story on Sound Politics from Wisconsin since the beginning because of the national implications of blatant election fraud. It's not surprising to learn in the past several days that massive fraud also took place in Milwaukee that likely tipped the presidential race in Wisconsin. Thanks for all of your efforts in fighting for the honest citizens who have been disenfranchised by systematic cheating. Let's take our country back!

6. You guys need to read this then.

Michelle has posted some interesting stuff about Wisconsin's voter fraud.

7. Awesome work, saw you on Fox and I've posted on Polstate.com about the Washington vote fraud. There are similar reports on Polstate about vote fraud in Wisconsin that could have swung the state for Bush (this due to same day voter registration).

I'm adding you to my daily reads.

8. Enjoyed the appearence with Brit Hume. Was the Shark hoarse or was the microphone not good? He was hard to hear. He didn't mention the provisional ballots. Or, are they too boring for the average audience.

9. When I found out Stefan was from my hometown of Madison, Wisconsin and that he went to the same Jr. High and High School I did, I knew why he was doing this.
Good, honest Midwest values.
And in Madison, Shark got a good whiff of Leftist "activism". I know that's what made me conservative.
Madison has some legendary stories about the Student Union spending huge dollars buying 10,000 pink flamingo's and putting them up on Bascom Hill.
The same guy also had a huge head of the Statue of Liberty made and dragged it out onto iced over Lake Mendota.
When I went there, EVERY WEEKEND there were several showings of the movie Night of the Living Dead.
I've lived in Washington almost 30 years....but I still consider myself to be from Madison.
What a great place to grow up, huh Shark??

10. Brit Hume is re-airing now. (9p-10p PST) Turn on FoxNews! The segment is about 1/2 way through.

11. Wonderful! Bravo! Just watched the re-air on Fox News. Stefan, you are very credible.

12. Chuck--Nice to see a Georgian here. I spent two cherished weeks this past fall in your wonderful (though humid) state, so I have warm feelings for GA. Besides, any state that produces a Zell Miller is alright with ME!

wrongallalong: You keep shouting and kicking and screaming over there in Wisconsin about that vote fraud. I read Malkin's article about it and am appalled! yell til they hear you and make the changes; don't let it go! It DOES matter to the rest of the country that things get cleaned up there; it could decide a presidency!

13. Excellent appearance by the Shark on Brit Hume. This is beginning to look better and better.

14. Chuck,
This can be said to be international. I read this everyday from Okinawa, Japan. To all of you there in Washington, keep up the fight for right. It matters not who wins elections, (although I favor the Right), as long as the elections are clean and fair.

15. We're going to get this mess of an election redone, and then we're going to fix the process for all future elections.

The floodgates are open.

Thanks Shark!

16. What's the story about the initial run-in between the two of you? We want the gossip.
