At this moment I am in Andy MacDonald's elegant Seattle home, at a "Blogger Bash," attended by lé weblogue non pareil of Western Washington. Shark, Matt, Andy, Marsha, Ambra, Seth, Ron, Jim, Scott, are all within a few yards, chatting with other Washington bloggers.
Digital Brown Pajamas writers Jeff and Steve are here, swinging from the chandeliers, while James J Na of Guns and Butter blog is throwing shrimp-impaled darts. Richard of Mossback has Bill of Hamilton's Pamphlets in a headlock, giving a noogie. Pajama Jihad's Nathan is showing us his gun collection, and Doug Anderson of Sunbreak City is playing Grateful Dead (for Gregoire voters presumably) on his guitar.
Just kidding, we're all just talking, eating, laughing.
Chris Collins from Seattle Times' NEXT is here, Anita of AnitaRowland.com, Robert of the Mulatto Advocate, Ron of Horologium, Dave of Seattle Sense, Mike of KeystoneBlog, and many more that I'm going to feel guilty later for forgetting.
Lest you think it silly to blog while at a party, Andy (whose wife Erica cooks an awesome lasagna) was kind enough to set up a computer in his living room for this express purpose. [Eh, what's that? Oh. He had it here for his taxes... and didn't have time to move it.] Their dog Inga, a cutie collie/ malamut is begging for marzipan.
Hey, this is what blogging is about: connecting with people, sharing reality in real time.
I'm here with my beautiful, ready-to-pop expecting wife, aware that this may be our last party for a while when the baby arrives!!
Other bloggers will add their take on the blogfest soon.
SoundPolitics: not just wonkish investigative reporting. We party.

Father's-waiting-room-blogging?!
LOL! Have fun!
Posted by: JeanneB on January 29, 2005 09:52 PMSeriously, though, it was great to see/meet almost everyone, though there were so many people there, I really didn't get a chance to talk to everyone I would have liked!
Save me some of those shrimp darts!
(I am in my living room doing taxes tonight....sigh...)
Stay up late! You will need the practice! heh....

You guys have done such an outstanding job. You deserve the national recognition.

Posted by: Joe on January 30, 2005 12:03 AMHmmm. You forgot to invite Goldy.
That wasn't for ideological reasons was it? Ok. Did anyone consider for a moment to invite him as a fellow blogger?

Hey Andrew, sorry about the carpet. At least it all washed out of my pajamas.
I should feel better by noon.
One thing; Has anyone seen my undies?
Posted by: Jeff on January 30, 2005 09:51 AMWell, Goldy might as well get use to it. The Democrat ideas are dying and being replaced by more objective ideas in an electorate that is no longer spoon fed propaganda from a single viewpoint. People are learning to think for themselves and when they do, they invariaby come to the clonclusion that life is better when they take responsibility for themselves and then enjoy the pride of the gains they achieve on their own. When left to their own means, people end up on the conservative to middle side of the spectrum.
So Goldy better get use to partying by himself.

Good luck with the new baby! Sincerely!

Posted by: DeadManVoting (aka Iguana) on January 30, 2005 11:29 AMDo you...you, feel like I do?
How'd ya feel?
Do you...you, feel like I do?
My friend got busted, just the other day.
They said,"Don't walk, don't walk, don't walk away."
Drove him to a taxi, bent the boot, hit the bag.
Had to play some music, wonder why's he drag.
Do you...you, feel like I do?
How'd ya [turns from mic, can't catch it]?
Do you...you, feel like I...
[1st guitar solo]
Do you...you, feel like I do?
Yes ya do.
Do you...you, feel like I do?
Champagne for breakfast and a Sherman in my hand.
Peached up, Peached Ale, never fails.
Must have been a dream I don't believe where I've been.
Come on, let's do it again.
Do you...you, feel like I do?
How'd ya feel?
Do you...you, feel like I...
[keyboard solo]
Do you feel like we do?
Do you feel like we do?
Oh, that's true.
Do you feel like we do?
Get back.
Do you feel..do you feel like we do?
[2nd guitar solo]
[start voice box]
Oh baby do you feel?
Oh baby do you feel, feel like we do?
Do you feel...do you feel...like we do?
I want to thank you.
Do you feel like we do?
That's alright, that's alright to feel you'd like,
Feel you'd like, a good time.
We'll goto bed and good night.
Good night, good night, good night, good night, good night.
Must have been a good party....
