You may not have heard of Wayne Perryman, but he is an author, lecturer and Reverend, based in the Seattle area. He is black. And among many other things, he wrote the book "Unfounded Loyalty," explaining why the Democratic Party is no friend of blacks.
Perryman today sent out an e-mail to selected Seattle media, and some others that bears spreading around.
You have probably heard the phrase, "Yo, Dog," or "Whassup, Dog" (alt. spelling, "dawg"). As in: friend, compadre, etc. Well, it happens that Perryman thinks that as a term of affection or recognition, "dog" is a dog itself. Especially when applied to a black man by another. He writes:
Why Black Men Should Not Refer To Each Other As DogsBy Rev.Wayne Perryman, doublebro@aol.com
1. The only way one dog gets to know another dog is by placing his nose in the other dog’s butt.
2. Dogs are best controlled when they are on a leash to limit their mobility or when they are locked up.
3. Dogs are part of the community but are never known for doing anything positive for the community.
4. A dog will protect his master a lot faster than he will protect another dog.
5. Dogs are most productive when they have a master or an owner to control what they do.
6. Male dogs don’t care who they have sex with and female dogs aren’t particular who gets them pregnant.
7. Dogs always leave a stinky mess for others to step in and for other dogs to smell.
8. Dogs can be trained, but even with the best training they have limited abilities.
9. A dog without a master is a dog that can cause disaster.
10. Dogs look out for their own interest, but they are not known for looking out for the interest of other dogs.
11. Female dogs are always left with the responsibility of feeding and raising their young while the male dog always move on to the next dog in heat.
12. A dog is known to go back and eat his own vomit.
Let’s go back to calling each other brother, not dogs.
I admire Perryman's courage to call bull*** on people regardless of their race or politics. The day someone with his sensibilities is running the local NAACP chapter will be a great day for diversity in Seattle. FYI, here's a Google-cached Republican Radio commentary by Perryman on why Democrats owe reparations to blacks (scroll down a ways for the start).

When we were in the Cub scouts, the Wolf patch was lower than the cougar or bear patch.
Perryman, a lone wolf, is countercultural: a lot of reverends in Seattle ape the Democ rat party-line, but he bucks the trend. I think he was hawk on Iraqi Freedom too.
As he carries on this battle, I hope he remembers the air force pilot's epithet: "It's not the dog in the fight, but the fight in the dog."
Posted by: Wonderboy on March 9, 2005 04:51 PMThe piece isn't dated, but it makes mention that there have only been 3 black senators--all Republican. Well, ok two were during Reconstruction and one was in the 60s - 70s. Now we just have Obama (D) after the retirement of Moseley Braun (D).
It ends with:
"Perryman voted Democrat all of his life and served on the Washington State Black Clergy to re-elect Clinton. Up to the year 2000, Perryman has never voted for a Republican Administration."
So I wonder what happened to change his mind? Nearly all the "atrocities" he attributes to the Democrats require a trip in the way back machine. I agree with him that Democrats take the black vote for granted, and the Dem leadership deserves to be slapped around publicly for it, but I wonder what since 2000 has told him to vote R?
Posted by: ChrisW on March 9, 2005 05:10 PMHow about this one (cause it's true for one of my dogs):Either he's running around or laying around. And when he's doing neither he's just scamming for someone else's food.
Posted by: Michele on March 9, 2005 06:04 PMActually, the Democrat-Republicans didn't separate; they just dropped the Republican. Look, there's no denying it...there was a wing of the Democratic party that was completely segregationist into the 1960s. After signing the Civil Rights Acts, Lyndon Johnson said he'd just lost the South for the Democrats and he was right. Wallace formed his own party, Nixon co-opted it for the Republicans and after all the old-time incumbents died or retired, the Rs have been in control of the South ever since. But as Lindsay Graham said, “We don’t do Lincoln Day Dinners in South Carolina. It’s nothing personal, but it takes awhile to get over things.”
