Flash: "The Binder" to be released this afternoon

King County Elections spokeswoman Bobbie Egan e-mails:

Responsive documents for #5 of your Public Disclosure Request dated 2/22/05 will be available today. We'll have copies of the summary and "notes" spreadsheet and the polling place reconciliation binder available for purchase by 3:00 p.m.
Finally.

I'll be there to get my copy.

1. It would be fitting if either KVI or KTTH were there for the, er, opening ceremonies as it were.

Waiting with baited breath (gotta change toothpaste),

2. I smell a fixer-upper doctored-doc. I hope I am wrong, but we will soon find out how honest or clever they think they are. So far they have not been clever or discreet.

3. Pay with cash! I don't think you want your credit card info or a check with your bank account number on it floating around that "honest" election office at this point.

4. Truth Held Hostage: Day13
HALLELUJAH!!!!!!

I did pointed out that King County said NOT LATER THAN MARCH 31.

Stefan,

I see you took me up on my suggestion to call the GOP re: the reconciliation docs (the binder). Good for you.

5. Better wear your sunglasses for this one or risk being blinded by the whitewash. I guess we'll see how clever they are at making it look good but not "too good". Although, after all this time, one would expect a halfway decent coverup.

6. Stefan,

Great job as usual. Hopefully there will be something there to explain the nonsensical BS that is coming out of that county office.

7. you might want to compare what they give you to, say, what you and the GOP already have to see if, er, ummm.... things may have been "corrected"? or would the right word be sanitized?

8. HMmmmm... Is it coincidence that this document is finally released just a few days before Dean Logan is set to meet with the entire County council on Monday???
Many of the council members have been requesting it for weeks. I'll give them credit though. I thought they would wait until Monday morning to release the document to limit council members time to review it before the meeting.

9. John Gibson, sitting in for Tony Snow this morning, was talking about the 2012 Olympic Games bid between Paris and New York and kept playing Inspector Cleseau clips. It got me thinking, Inspector Cleseau would be the perfect man for this job. Bumbling, French, but always seems to get his man. I'm sure KC Elections would gladly hand over the binder to him. So if it happens to be missing when you get down there this afternoon...

10. I'm really glad to hear this, but they need to tell us what they did to it while they weren't releasing it. (are you listening, KC elections?) They have already damaged their credibility with because of their stalling.

"Yes, we will be releasing ze bender."

"Releasing the what?"

"Ze bender! Ze bender! Ze bender wis ze precinct reconciliation reports!"

"Oh, the binder"

"Yes, zat is what I said, ze bender."

Posted by: ScottM on March 11, 2005 10:38 AM
12. You know what would be priceless?

They release the binder, but at a prohibitively high price. Sure... we've got your binder. That will be sixteen hundred dollars please.

13. Stefan--
While you are there, you may want to flip thru it and ask Egan WHO & WHEN numbers on those documents were created???
Need to have clarity on ALL alterations to reconciliation forms.

Another tedious project (if it's not included) will be to take the actual #'s from the pollbook reconciliation forms done Election Night and track them to the "starting point" on these reconciliation forms.

DON'T ASSUME NOTHIN'!!!
There should be a VERY clear audit trail....documented, signed and dated.
Anything less raises even more serious issues.
WHY??
Because this should have been done BEFORE any of the 3 certifications! Discrepancies must be identified, investigated, corrected if possible and reported to the Canvassing Board PRIOR TO certification. PERIOD.

You may also want to ask for copies of TAPES of ALL Canvassing Board meetings. If they don't have tapes...WHY??? Why wouldn't they tape canvassing board meetings where Election Official Logan reports to Canvassing Board member Logan??
Otherwise...get the minutes!!!
With the controversy surrounding KingCo, they should have definitely recorded those canvassing board meetings. If they didn't and later claim the written minutes were "incomplete" or "unclear"---yet another scandal suspects me.

14. You may also want to ask for copies of TAPES of ALL Canvassing Board meetings.

They have offered me tapes of the canvassing board meetings. Frankly, I'm not sure I'd have time to listen to them all and pick out the important parts. If somebody wants to transcribe them, I'd go through the transcripts.

15. I volunteer!

Posted by: sgmmac on March 11, 2005 11:25 AM
16. Tapes???? -- We don' gotta show you no stinkin' tapes!!! -- oh wait hold it -- I just got word - ya can have this one -- only missing 18 minutes!!!

Posted by: Bill on March 11, 2005 11:30 AM
17. A copy of such a thick binder must take a long time to make (unless they have a digital copy, which would be sensible but unlikely). They probably don't have many copies. Please be there early to get a copy before there are none left. Also, it would be expensive -- bring along hundreds of dollars. You could ask soundpolitics readers to recompense you. (not me, I'm not a Washington resident :-)

18. Hopefully Stefan will be able to determine how many question/special/provisional votes really were stuffed in the semi-Accuvote machines without any verification to determine if they were legit.

19. I'm sure King County planned on waiting until a Friday at 3PM to provide the documents.

The best time to self-disclose bad news is on a Friday afternoon. Things have the whole weekend to try and settle down. (Of course, they won't).

20. Any way that someone could acquire the tapes and then create mp3 files? Then they could be distributed via email to several SP readers - even those of us halfway around the world - for transcripting. This would limit the load on any one person, and I'm sure there are many here who would be willing to help do a small part of the transcripting for the sake getting any useful information from the tapes into Shark's hands.

Just an idea.

Posted by: JRR on March 11, 2005 02:48 PM
21. I'll take a turn at transcribing some of the tapes; should mp3's be posted.

Posted by: Gary on March 11, 2005 03:34 PM
22. JRR & Gary--
Great idea in terms of transcribing tapes.
Let's see what Stefan comes up with....
My other thought Stefan is that there were likely DOCUMENTS distributed to the 3 canvassing board members at those canvassing board meetings.
Did you specifically ask for:
"Any and all information distributed to canvassing board members"??

23. Rememember boys and girls, that "bad news" is released by government agencies late on Friday's so it gets burried in the Saturday newspaper that nobody reads and is no longer news by Sunday or Monday.

24. "Rememember boys and girls, that "bad news" is released by government agencies late on Friday's so it gets burried in the Saturday newspaper that nobody reads and is no longer news by Sunday or Monday."

Yeah...That's what they said about public interest in the election contest....and the interest in this blog......but the interest just keeps growing........and growing.......

Everytime King County or Sam Reed held a press conference to try to deflate the case building against them...the public said "what.....ever!" and ran to Stefan's update in the blog! With the release of the Binder and pictures...this blog will have a tremendous hit count!

There is no way to bury interest in this election fraud!
