1. I heard it on the program...it sounds even better the second time around.

2. Reed has 'govennment speek' down, 'and to a T.' There is no problem with that as long as you are down with someone who will spend a half-hour blowing smoke up your skirt and then call you a man. But if you want a straight answer to a straight question, forget it.

3. Go ahead and bury me where I stand if it ever takes me 37 seconds to utter the word “incompetent.”

4. Perhaps the same could be said for Sam himself...

5. The inference is that he wasn’t capable of ‘cleaning up an existing mess.’ The reality is that Ron Sims went out shopping for someone who would see to it that those with a proclivity for engaging in election shenanigans were afforded every opportunity to do so. In filling this position he either had to find someone who was ‘down with the program’ or wasn’t bright enough to see that he was being used. In Logan’s case the latter is probably most probable. Sims isn't that bright either, but his underhandedness shines like a lighthouse.

6. How much longer does this show have to go on before Dean Logan is shown the door and told to hit the road? I suppose long enough for the media to fully realize just how screwed up the King County elections department is and that Dean Logan is a huge part of the problem, not the solution. I would also like to see Ron Sims step up and admit that his choice, yes his choice, of Dean Logan was a terrible choice. Ron should then assume responsibility and accept the consequences of first hiring Dean Logan and then steadfastly supporting him even as evidence of a failed election grew.

Watch for Ron Sims to finally read the writing on the wall, especially if Gregoire is removed from office, and then make a scapegoat of Dean Logan. Both men should be held responsible and suffer the consequences of their ineptitude and dishonest discourse. They both need to be thrown out on their collective keisters.

7. But King county keeps telling us Dean is the best there is! If so, we're in a lot more trouble than we thought.

8. "Sims isn't that bright either, but his underhandedness shines like a lighthouse.
"

Excuse me, excuse me, what you exhibit here is a serious lack of good home training.

He is just differently gifted, he was after all smart enough to preside over the theft of an election.

9. When Logan & Sims are at long last unemployed, I can see them taking their act on the road called:
WEIRD AL with Buckwheat

They can do hardcore rap in the Prison Ministry!

10. 'what you exhibit here is a serious lack of good home training.' Get with it man and cut the PC bull, I know what I am and that is just another insensitive rightwing a-hole. I assure you I am reminded of that every time I am right on something and have the evidence to prove it.

11. We should care less about Logan; most importantly we want the election corrected, and/or the Dems tarred for their theft. I'm inclined to want Logan to stay. Its too easy for them to fire him and say it was bad prior staff, thus avoiding the real issue.

Posted by: righton on April 27, 2005 03:23 PM
12. Righton,
I agree, if Logan is O.K. with King County then by all means let them keep him, BUT after all is said and done the taxpayers who live in KC and the KC Democratic Party should be held liable for the entire cost of this fiasco.

13. Dear JDH

Sorry you are unable to know sarcasm when you see it. Thought everyone here was pretty well versed in the lore of this "election". Would hazard a guess almost everyone else took it for what it was.

Not funny if I have to splain it but it was a reference to a very well known and ridiculed condescending lecture Sims gave at one of his press conferences. He was extolling the accuracy of his election department when someone in the audience called BS and most in attendance openly laughed at his claims.

There got it now?, not enough libs here to flame today?, so from one right wing a-hole to another lighten up and get a clue.

14. Actually I was being sarcastic myself

15. Maybe before Logan leaves Sims could call for a recount on the votes he received (or lack of) during his Primary race for Governor.

Posted by: 4pawz on April 27, 2005 03:56 PM
16. scott158,

Got yer back, buddy. I'll put you under if it takes you longer than 3 seconds.

17. Is it just me, or is that the lamest excuse for a criticism that anyone could muster? From the lamest excuse for a RINO in the state.

Posted by: Dogbert on April 27, 2005 04:51 PM
18. Dogbert, surely you mean that he is a shining example of a RINO.

Posted by: Danny on April 27, 2005 04:56 PM
19. Sounds a bit like the old "Peter Principle". 'One can only rise to the level of their incompetence.'
Looks like in King County none of those clowns can get above curbside level.

20. I don't want Logan to go away...yet. He's chained to Ron Sims. Ron Sims is the problem here. Ron Sims needs to resign and take his little buddy with him.

Sims doesn't deserve a pass on this.

21. He finally expresses a loss of confidence in his protege - after the avalanche of evidence. From what I heard, it appeared that Reed's deposition favored the Rossi camp.

Unimpressed by it all - hopefully a sign of things to come when Logan gets dumped, Sims beaten by Irons and Gregoire a former Governor after Hon. Judge Bridges throws out the election and the Supreme Court has to agree.

22. Ron did say that he would cast his wife's vote for her if she were to die. Basically he condones votes by dead people. I agree that Ron Sims is the problem. Dean Logan just really isn't very bright.

23. I've often heard the following:

Those who can, do
Those who can't do, teach
Those who can't teach, teach gym

I suppose we could extend this by adding the following line:

Those who can't teach gym work for King County.

24. Sam Reed's performance at the State level is a mirror image of the comments that he makes about Logan's performance at KC. Maybe Sam should go back to his smaller shop at Thurston County where he can be with all of his Democrate friends.
Reeds comments about Logan are a dog & pony show to help Logan with a soft landing by claiming it was over his head and he was confused. "No fraud here"!
Sims hired Logan to do exactly what he did while Reed looked the other way.
Convict and/or fire all three of them.

25. Snake, that is hilarious! I love it.

26. Funny, when Sam had a chance to step up in the beginning it was in defense of Dean.

Now that Sam is facing an unrelenting amount of criticism over HIS job performance, he decides to heave Dean overboard.

Sam Reed needs to go.

27. Mr. Cynical,

I'm not going to assume that you meant it this way but the following phrase is offensive to our african american friends.

"Buckwheat"

Maybe an apology is in order...........

28. The Republican Party hierarchy needs a good housecleaning starting at the top. Chris Vance has repeatedly supported Reed and is good at faithfully keeping the "eleventh" commandment. Consider the following statement he sent out on Monday in support of Republicans who voted for the gas tax.

Thank you for your message. I understand that many Republicans are upset with the passage of tax increases in Olympia.

The state of Washington adopts separate two year budgets for transportation, and for general operations.

Republicans unanimously opposed Christine Gregoire's bloated operating budget which increased spending 12% and raised over $500 million in new taxes.

Republicans also unanimously opposed suspending the voter approved requirement (I-601) that tax increases must pass with a 2/3 vote of the House and Senate.

While some Republican members of the House and Senate did support an increase in the gas tax, the overwhelming majority of Republicans voted no, while the vast majority of Democrats voted yes.

Under our state constitution gas taxes can only be used to fund state highways. Therefore, none of this gas tax increase will go to Sound Transit light rail, or to any other government function.

Republicans succeeding in passing a measure requiring a performance audit of the state Department of Transportation.

This gas tax increase will be phased in gradually over the next three years, and will fund transportation projects statewide, not just in Seattle or the central Puget Sound area.

In summary, most Republican members of the legislature opposed raising the gas tax. Some, however, saw the proposal as a necessary investment in needed transportation projects important to relieving traffic congestion and improving our economy. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this very controversial issue.

Chris Vance

What part of "you cannot tax your way out of debt" do people not understand? The gas tax is "a necessary investment in needed transportation projects important to relieving traffic congestion and improving our economy." How stupid does he think we are?

Vance will support anyone who has an "R" by their name. Reed is a perfect example and another is Shirley Hankins. People like Reed and Hankins wouldn't be in office is the Republican party quit supporting them.
