That was quick
King County Councilman Steve Hammond appears to be the first elected official to have responded to the county's unlawful mailing of absentee ballots. Hammond issued this press release earlier today: "New Ballot Errors Highlight Need for New Leadership at King County Elections"

1. Where is our esteemed Secretary of State on this issue? I do not expect anything constructive from that office. My guess the response will be "no harm, no foul."
2. Dammit!
Ron Sims and his buddy Dean Logan are still screwing around with our elections!
They are STILL sending multiple ballots out to people - which means they haven't done anything to fix the voter database or the computer systems!!
Now they've messed with the postage, return address message requirments and have added a stupid line for phone numbers for possibly the purpose of party marketing - with no notation that adding the phone number is optional!
They have solidly screwed up King County elections again - while they've been busy looking for scapegoats for our LAST election!!
How dare Ron Sims suggest that *he* or his cronies be involved - let alone *the authority* in any future elections in King County!! I know it's three strikes and he's out...but this man has had 10 strikes - and it's time to stop him!
Time to get the feds in here.....
3. Just received ballots for my dead parents to vote on again, after I got new registration cards for them. I have tried to get a hold of my dead parents but I have not been able to get them to respond. I will write Santa Claus at the N. Pole this Xmas and see if I can get a hold of them. I got their absentee ballots with me. If you want to scan and post .pdf, let me know. Needsless to say, they will not be voting unless they show up to use their ballots. unlike logan, I will be asking my dead parents for current valid ID and US citrizenship.
4. Why so quick? Watchdog work by Shark and EFF. Thanks so much for staying on top of this.
5. Did anyone really believe that things were changed in King County Elections?
Nicole Way is their scapegoat and they have to fire her to ensure that she doesn't rat them out - again! Lord knows they can't have an honest outspoken employee up there. She isn't being fired for not knowing what she's doing, she's being fired because she knows what they are doing!
6. Oh Martin,
I am very sorry. This is so abusive.
7. Aaaarrgghh! Would someone please publish Sims' and Logan's home addresses so we can go visit them. Enough is enough!
8. Thank goodness some of the counsel is waking up!!
Looks like Dean is finally feeling some serious heat!! All the more reason for David Irons to need to win this fall the County Executive position in the fall by a LANDSLIDE!! We may need to do so in spite of some of his opinions on different subjects or endure more of the same!wich will it be folks?
9. Dave Irons gave a radio interview yesterday and discussed this deplorable situation, even before Hammond's release I think. Irons brought in the fellow that was head of King County elections back when it was a reputable system - who gave a list of recommendations to fix this mess. Sims ignores those solutions so he can keep his cronies in power. Incredible. My son - a first time voter - received two absentee ballots. How do I explain to him the importance of his vote when Sims treats it so cavalierly? We have to replace Sims with Irons. Please, please, PLEASE - make people know we have a great choice. Remove Sims in November and elect Irons!!!!!
10. Being as there are so few contested Republican candidates in the primary, I am suggesting everybody pick democrate as party on the primary and vote for one of the candidates that oppose Ron Sims

12. Sorry Al, but I can't go there. But I appreciate where you are coming from.
13. Did anyone else notice that they spelled perjury wrong on the ballot? It says under the Oath of Voter on the yellow envelope. "I do solemnly swear or affirm, under penalty of purjury that..."
Hmmmm... spell check??
14. Great catch, Aaron!
Too bad they had to cut the budget for proofreaders in the election office, so they could shore up the budget for placing Friends of Ron with no election experience in the election office.
15. Same old same old -- in addition >> there is no such crime or anything as 'purgury' -- i.e. you can do what ever ya want with the damn ballot -- these SOB's are screwing it up as much as they can possibly get away with -- and you all who keep coming up with the idea that King Co's corruption is just recent and mostly a product of Sims -- open your eyes and look around -- two lane freeway through downtown - compromised against any horizontal or vertical capacity expansion since the mid 70's by adjacent over development and 'lid' construction -- taxpayer paid -- the original process of locating the Kingdome at King Street was a drawn out process - totally full of fraud -- the stubs for the freeway ramps to feed those sandbox whorehouses were part of the original freeway plan and construction c.1960 >> there has been a plan for about 50 years now and it is gonna be slid in with whatever amount of fraud and stiff-arming etc. is required.
Look at these moronic, greedy, spoiled Boeing machinist's union strikers - really smart there you fools -- at the begining of a major fuel crisis and shortages - flights curtailed and airports suspending operations >> plane order cancellations are probably right around the corner and there will certainly be layoffs coming and further moving of manufacturing out of state and overseas whether you get anything more or not - historically the union never gets more than the originally rejected offer no matter how long the strike lasts. whine away there turkeys.
Poor babies - insulted by a paltry 10% pension increase - sob - sob - gotta pick up a little more on the old health insurance there bub??? -- whine - whine - whine -
Dat goose ain't got no mo' golden eggs dere Maude!!
BUT - DO NOT DESPAIR -- "WE ALL KNOW THAT IT IS ALL BUSH'S FAULT" - we can still vote democRAT --
16. One more reason to vote for David Irons - this kind of garbage is unacceptable.
