Sims insider refuses to participate in desperate smear attempt against Irons

Ron Sims' off-the-books spokesman has been trying to build anticipation for weeks that he has some "bombshell" smear against David Irons in the works -- if only he can get his sources to go on the record. Of course, the "bombshell" was only ever a dud. So the Sims campaign dropped it on a Saturday, when its embarrassment would be viewed by the smallest audience, and used 1,600 words to say what could have been said in 6 (e.g. "This is an unfounded rumor. Sorry"). The most revealing thing in the whole dud smear bomb is this --

So in response to allegations that [Denise Passinetti] quit her job due to Irons’ abusive behavior, all she would say on [or off] the record was this: “I was his chief of staff for a little over two years, and in this election I have maxed out my contributions to Ron Sims, and that’s who I’ll be voting for, for executive. So I’ll just let that speak for itself.”
Denise Passinetti's support for Sims is nothing new. She was a strong Sims supporter long before Irons entered the race. Here is a record of her $1,000 donation to Ron Sims' failed 2004 gubernatorial bid. [Note: it fails to report the donor's employer, as required by law]

David Irons' sister Janet Irons e-mailed me to put Passinetti's support for Sims in context:

Horseass.org has a piece this morning alleging that Denise Passinetti, a ex Irons staffer, was verbally abused and left Irons' staff as a result. I have tried to post the following facts, but my URL is being blocked. Could you please get this out there? I confirmed this information with David this morning.

- Denise left Irons' office for a better paying job at Boeing, that required fewer hours than her position on Irons staff.

- Denise has been romantically involved with [Rollin] Fatland for several years. She worked for him and then became his live in girlfriend some time ago.

- Fatland has worked on every Sims campaign (including this one) and will lose more than $250,000 a year in income the moment Sims is out of office.

The biggest bombshell here is that a woman who is invested in Sims' re-election refuses to be used in an attempt to falsely smear Sims' opponent. Posted by Stefan Sharkansky at November 05, 2005 09:43 AM | Email This

1. Well, at least HA's behavior is consistent with the intellectually weak left.

2. First off, I don't block URL's, and anybody who reads the filth in my comment threads knows it. I have a blog spam filter that has an error rate somewhat equivalent to the GOP's voter challenge list, and Janice's comments weren't cleared out of it until I woke up this morning. I didn't even realize it was Janice Irons.

Second, I worked on this story for weeks, trying to convince people to go on the record, and I just ran out of time. I had intended to post it yesterday morning, but I bumped it in favor of the GOP voter intimidation story. (Which admittedly, is a much better story. Thanks Lori! Thanks Chris!)

As to Passinetti, I've responded to Janice in my comment thread.

But in any case, thanks for helping to promote the story Stefan, because I can assure you the MSM wasn't going to pick it up. Reporters at both the Times and the P-I had most of the information I have... they have the names of the women involved in these incidents, and obviously, they couldn't get them to talk on the record either.

3. This is Democrat desperation folks. The sitting incumbent executive of the largest county in the state - a county that consistently votes for the party of this incumbent, should be sitting high on the throne and not having to worry about Tuesday.

Instead, what we see are desperate measures to attempt to make one's opponent look bad (which has the adverse consequence of taking people's eyes off of your own lousy record).

The facts are: Sims has lost ballots, lost people's brains, and lost our tax money. AND he doesn't want to be County Executive (he ran for Governor only a year ago, despite his county executive term not being completed). Simssucks

4. I think it is very clear that Sims and the radical left are running scared and this is yet another desperate attempt to sling some mud and hope it sticks. Pathetic. Sims is unable to run on a positive platform of what he can do, because he has proven with the elections fiasco, $40 million computer fiasco,CAO, and tent cities that his is incapapble of doing a good job. Negative campaigning is a desperate attemtp to deflect from his poor job perfomance. It's time to show this guy the door. VOTE FOR DAVID IRONS on Tuesday!!!!

5. goldy - you have the filth over there because you like it

The LSM (slimes & Pravda-Insulter) didn't carry the story because, even as biased and ethically challenged as they are, they knew that it was beneath even their "standards" to spread such a witless smear piece - but of course that doesn't stop a scumbag like you.

6.
Excellent work my friend in disclosing the fact that a SIMS Campaign adviser, FATLAND, is boning the source of CLOWNstein’s BIG SCOOP!!! Something tells me that CLOWNstein knew this all along and “conveniently” omitted it from the truth and whole truth. Typical. You busted CLOWNstein for his SHI*SQUAD tactics at their worst!!!!

How many of these 140 will not vote because of Mrs. Sotelo’s error? The error was publicly corrected. A number of those folks already know they can vote, if not ALL.
In the end, it is much ado about nothing. No one will stand before us under oath and say they didn’t vote because of this. No one!!!
So go ahead you LEFTIST PINHEADED CLOWNS…..hurl yourselves on the ground and feign damage. It is what you are best at….acting offended at anything you disagree with. There is no damage. I’m glad these legitimate voters can vote. It’s the way it should be. But what about the others that are illegally registered?????? Ohhhhhhhhh, I get it….ignore these. Logan basically put the onus on citizens to challenge voter registration….despite the fact that virtually every other County follows up on obvious illegal registrations like mailbox services and storage warehouses WITHOUT A FORMAL CHALLENGE!!!!
If Sims loses================LOGANCLOWN is FIRED!!!!
If David Irons wins=========LOGAN CLOWN IS FIRED!!!!!!!!
That’s good enough for me!
Everything starts with competent Elections in a Representative form of Government you CLOWNS!

7. CLOWNstein sez
" Reporters at both the Times and the P-I had most of the information I have... they have the names of the women involved in these incidents, and obviously, they couldn't get them to talk on the record either."

So how does CLOWNstein know what reporters at the Times and TASS have???? Are these fine masters of professional journalism sharing confidential information with a FRINGE LUNATIC LEFTIST PINHEADED BLOGGERCLOWN named David CLOWNstein???

I believe that the Sims Campaign feeds CLOWNstein....CLOWNstein posts and then the losers at the Times & P-I jump on it. This is a well-orchestrated sham!!

Thank you CLOWNstein for busting yourself.....again with the insight on what "reporters" at the TImes and P-I have.
You are truly a CLOWN!!

8. I can't believe the Sims people are still so scared. Isn't Sims' record enough to get him re-elected again, in their eyes? Or does this mean they still think his deeds are catching up with him finally, and that their inside polls are yet showing bad news for them?

Posted by: Realist on November 5, 2005 11:40 AM
9. Maybe Sims history is finally catching up with him David Irons chewed him out royally when mikes were off and he richly deserved it!!

10. Shark writes, Sims insider refuses to participate in desperate smear attempt against Irons

Irons sealed his own fate years ago when he took a hand to his mother and struck her down. No one else needs to smear his name, he did that on his own.

Posted by: Daniel K on November 5, 2005 12:51 PM
11. In reference to HA's post, specifically directed to Daniel K and other leftist pinhead trolls who peruse this site:

Goldy - You tried laying out the story, but nothing substantial stuck in my mind. Rabbit - What temper tantrums ? Sims admitted yesterday that Irons never lost his temper in all of his interactions with him on KVI in their debate. Doubt if many over here listened to it, because it was on that bad right-wing station. Irons did accuse Sims of lieing about his credentials and his support of I-605, which Sims did not rebut on the air.

People hear what they want to hear and are too lazy or self-absorbed to not bother to check out the facts, and that’s why there are many uninformed voters.
If Sims happens to win, that will be why. Its all about taking sides in the culture war, which is ripping the guts out of this country and county. Noone will pursue something that may have happened by accident more than 10 years ago - anyone who believes that is stuck on stupid. Just another smear tactic that is nothing but flatulence. Search for the truth for a change - if you have the cajones !

12. One more thing I left out - My comment above was a copy of my comment on Horseass.org in reference to comments by Roger Rabbit on the posting by Goldy, which is referenced by this posting.

13. I just tried to post the excerpt from the Janet A Irons e-mail on Horses A$$, and my attempt was also blocked.

Guess Goldy just doesn't want people to hear the truth!

14. 1. David Irons' mother is a nutburger. If she told me it was raining outside tonight, I'd have to go check.

2. Irons better win big, because if he wins small, is there any doubt what the Ron Sims Election Machine™ will likely get away with?

This county is disgusting, and needs some serious cleaning up.

15. I see that Daniel Kirkdorffer decided to pop his head in here again and make wonderful with y'all.

Irons will win because people hate Sims. If Daniel thinks that a man who hit his mom is not going to get elected because of it, he better look at Lyndon Johnson, who was proven to be a wifebeater and won against Goldwater in 1964.

16. denial k's comments are just plainly stupid. Apparently he failed to pay attention to the talking points that said to suggest that Irons assaulted his mom. Idiot denial k goes straight to outright statement of fact.

He knows he looks like a drooler, but, because so many trolls visited yesterday, figures no one will notice (we did ;'}

Once again, this is the cheapest of cheap-shot politics and as such, totally expected from the left.

Clownstein - you are a liar. Not just a liar but a SLIMY liar. You censor your posts because you can't handle the truth. It is even more disingenuous for you to claim that "the spam filter" errorneously stops people's posts when YOU claim to be a software developer. The sourcecode of your blog is publically available for alteration and modification under the GPL.
