A whole week has passed since I last heard from Deanron. He's still holding the public's documents hostage and he's going to make me haul him in front of a judge before I can get them (details here and here). Oh, well. It's not like Deanron has anything to lose, his legal bills are paid for by the taxpayers. (My legal bills are paid for by the taxpayers too, but only by those who choose to contribute. Please help if you can)
As I noted in my last post, the county's daily newspapers are still disappointed with Deanron's performance, even if they haven't been the most effective agents for change. I hereby make an open call to the newspapers: join me and ask Deanron to release the rest of the transaction logs. If media interest prompts him to obey the law and release the records, great. Otherwise, I would invite the newspapers to join me in suing Deanron. Pressing Deanron to release the transaction logs would not only uphold the newspapers' support for honest elections and open government, it would be good for business. After all, why would Deanron refuse to release the transaction logs unless he believed its contents might be newsworthy?

Those transaction logs (or disappearance thereof) are newsworthy alright.....they are the "smoking gun". It ain't that complicated.
The database Deanron presented you @ Date A morphs into the current database with the "transformation" explained by the transaction log. It should show who made each change and when. This is Database 101. There is no imaginable reason....none, nadda, zip, ZERO....that this transaction log has disappeared or been altered in any way. IT IS THE TRAIL!!
Where is F*CKING TRAIL DEANO??????
Likewise Deanron is keeping the transaction logs and database files out of the hands of prosecuters. These tactics have served them well and keep them in the driver's seat to be able to manipulate results of the upcoming election(s) just like they do for Totalitarian Governments. That is, until someone seizes these items - maybe if Stefan can somehow link terrorists to this, they will be able to get it through search and seizure...
Posted by: KS on March 3, 2006 07:39 PMIt's too bad that in the bipartisan spirit of I-900 auditing, the WASL for students and increased mandatory auditing in the private sector with Sarbanes-Oxley that Dean Logan is unwilling to hold himself and KCREALS to the same level of scrutiny that the rest of us do routinely. Imagine a publically traded company unwilling to submit to an audit? There would be hell to pay.
Stefan's requests have all been very reasonable, yet somehow, Dean Logan remains above the law.

Maybe he just gets enjoyment out of seeing you snivel like a bitch Stefan. Your are truly worthless, a paranoid freak, and he's simply baiting you.
And you fell for it!
One can imagine Ron,Dean and Rossi Too in a circle on Capital hill discussing thier masterful baiting techniques amongst each other.
It sounds like a democratic caucus to me.
This is clever, "masterful baiting techniques." I like it, but I think you mispelled "caucus." :)
Posted by: TH on March 4, 2006 08:58 AMThe truth is that the Times, PI and King County Journal would not be "taking sides" if they suddenly joined the effort to reform and repair the foundation of our democracy. In fact, they would be "changing" sides. They would be abandoning the elite class of parasites that feeds off the taxpayer and shunning the influencial within government that feed them the news generally "unfit" to print.
It's a noble thought and a clever challenge of the press to ask. If any one of the papers was to accept, it would demonstrate a rare decision by publishers and owners to put what's good for the people above the consequences to their papers and their place at VIP events and parties.
I'm not holding my breath.
Posted by: MJC on March 4, 2006 11:04 AMStefan has masterfully set the trap. Logan has now stepped into it because he is an arrogant prick who fancies himself as the Election Expert. Logan may have created the illusion he knows a lot about elections because he was impressing a bunch of dummies with his shallow techno-babble and ability to quote the law. No one EVER challenged this PINHEAD....until now.
Logan is now standing naked in a huge pile of his own bullsh*t.....with Stefan poised to now take a huge bucket of it AND dump it on Logan's pointy little noggin!
Have you and friends visited the US Atty to discuss the your data findings.
Posted by: RickC on March 4, 2006 08:54 PMHas anyone asked for a public disclosure of the policies of his department with regards to maintianing results, disclosure, etc. If he knows he is going to lose his free legal counsel, he might wise up and start letting the cat out of the bag.................
Who's with me?
Posted by: Doug Timpe on March 5, 2006 11:41 AMGood point. I will subscribe to the first one of the three including the Times, PI or King County Journal that clearly
supports Stefan's call to push DeanRon for better open records conditions in our state.
However, I will not hold my breath or (for that matter) put it in my will.
