Tipping Point

Impeachment mania has spread to Sequim.

The Sequim Gazette reports:

For those who have seen anti-Bush protestors along Washington Street in Sequim, get used to it. Patriots Act! members plan to picket the two blocks east and west of Sequim Avenue every night from 5-6 p.m. until George W. Bush is no longer president of the United States, said activist Neil Morris.

I guess they'll be out there every night until January, 2009, then.

1. Well, I guess they can do with whatever they wish to do with their free time. I think it would be a better idea to start working on the 2006 election rather than worry about GWB. In a little less than 3 years, GWB will be retired.

2. From the looks of this crowd, it would take a direct hit from a Mack Truck to get them to a
"TIPPING POINT". What's shaking there Sequim protesters? Both cheeks and all four chins!

3. Section. 4.

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

U.S. Constitution

Please enlighten me:

What;
Treason,
Bribery,
High Crime,
Or Misdemeanor,
has GWB committed?

Treason? Which foreign power?
Bribery? From who, for what service?
High Crime? What criminal act?
Misdemeanor? What minor criminal act?

Lying to the public? Not a crime, if lying to the public was a crime every single politician would be in jail.

Illegal War? Congress authorized force. If congress authorizes it, it's not a crime.

Using bad intelligence? Not criminal, a mistake (maybe), but not criminal.

Violating Civil Rights? Who, what right, when? A foreign national an illegal enemy combatant of the US does not civil rights under us rights, is a criminal under international law.

Stealing an election? Sorry that dog won't hunt, no rational person buys that one any more.

Being from Texas, walking with a swagger, driving a Ford F350 on a ranch? Ah! I thing we're onto something.

On the serious side, show me a crime, oh, say like, perjury, obstruction of justice, suborning perjury and I'll be onboard.

Witz?
Dinesh?
Lucy?

4. Having all the same signs is boring. They should have at least one sign that says "Dick Cheney for President".

Posted by: SouthernRoots on March 30, 2006 05:42 PM
5. And is it improper to note that when our European betters accuse Americans of being overweight, that photo shows exactly what they are talking about? Not to be too nasty, but if they went on a hunger strike until "George W. Bush is no longer president of the United States", they'd survive well into a third term.

(Hey, this is fun! Now I see why Leftwing trolls and wackos immediately resort to innuendo, ad hominem, and personal attacks instead of reasoned discourse.)

6. I wonder what the trollish ones will think when they discover that, since Bush was "selected, not elected" he is free to campaign for a third (second!) barn-burner term!

Let's get ready to rumble!

7. This photograph looks doctored. I wonder what the picket signs looked like originally?

8. The "Restore our Honor" guy cracks me up! These are the same people who thought it was just fine for Clinton to be acting quite immorally with Monica Lewinsky. And thought nothing of it that he sent administration members out for 8 months to lie and try to cover the whole thing up. Clinton disgraced his office with his hideous behavior with Monica but they never thought to hold up picket signs about it. There's just no credibility here, when it comes to these silly charges.

And yes, these people will be out there until Jan. 2009. Better get a heavy coat and umbrella, guys; I'll be indoors.

9. ..and Raoul, glad to see you posting. I always enjoy your comments!

10. Those folks need to do lots of walking...the only weight they carry is on their persons!

Posted by: Susu on March 30, 2006 06:21 PM
11. Whole thing makes me feel kind of "Sequieamy". I count three signs, five people. Impressive, for Sequim.

Posted by: katomar on March 30, 2006 06:35 PM
12. I think these folks have cousins ( probably of the Arkansas variety ) in Carnation on Tuesdays.
Interestingly enough they are on the same corner as the bar. "All we are saaaaying is give pilsner a chance" My apologies to Mr. Lennon.

Posted by: Smokie on March 30, 2006 06:46 PM
13. I second the comments of JCM. Those people are just sore losers who can't get over the fact that their loser candidate went down to defeat.

Bush has been an honorable, honest, caring and compassionate President. That's more than could be said of Clinton, Carter & the Democrats that preceded them.

14. ...are they writing this off on their taxes as "therapy?" at least they are getting some excercise; better hurry & finish up before that 3:30 early bird dinner special at the local cafe!

Posted by: Jimmie-howya-doin on March 30, 2006 08:17 PM
15. How about this for a sign:
"Restore our honor, censor all Democrats"
or maybe,
"Democrats; you're embarrassing America"
or finally,
"Get over it, Clinton deserved impeachment"

Posted by: MJC on March 30, 2006 08:53 PM
16. 1. They are able to enjoy free speech.
2. It's good that they are out walking and making/keeping friends.
3. They aren't eating.
4. They have safe public sidewalks and cars are moving freely.
5. All of them still have their heads.

It's ironic that they would attack Pres. Bush for defending their ability to be alive. The enemy (which these Americans defend with their American rights) would like to see them dead as soon as possible. It's a crazy hoot! No wonder these liberal idiots don't like guns. They are the same people who hold themselves hostage. "Don't shoot Officer or I will shoot myself!" The problem is that they endanger our children and grandchildren with their grand schemes.

17. Do these people ever think? What do they think will happen if Bush is removed? Guess who becomes President...Hmmm...I guess then they'll begin impeachment proceedings again....and who will be VP then? Do they go that far in their swamp-fever addled minds?

A Republican will be in the White House until 2009, and I can guarantee you that if these folks ever did get their way, whoever is nominated for the Republicans in 2008 will win hands down.

As the saying goes, "Be careful what you wish for..."

18. They want revenge for what the Repubs. did to Clinton in 1998. If the Dems capture the House in 2006 - that will be attempted - but it likely won't get as far as it did with Clinton. Do they really want Cheney to be President ? I don't think so. Democrats are the party of feelings - but no common sense or vision. I don't care much for about 60% of Bush's policies currently - namely illegal immigration, runaway spending, but it would be worse with the other party in power with the losers that they put up. Lieberman or Bayh would have been better, but the Dems would never have nominated them - because their party has gone over the left bank.

19. It's ironic that they would attack Pres. Bush for defending their ability to be alive.

It's the result of an overly developed sense of entitlement. You see, they have RIGHTS.

21. Howyousdoin,

The odds are 9/2 that Bush will last to January 2009 and none of the Sequim Five will live that long.

To place a bet see me at my office in the $600,000 out house downtown or in front of Deanrons office.

23. The typical Air America Airhead. Cant read but beleives every lie told by Air America. Possibly no internet connection to read the real news and believes that the evil US military is Killing civilians. True statement because every terrorist is a civilian. They represent no government they represent their leaders to kill all non moslems. But in Iraq they kill fellow moslems to cause strife. And it is Bush's fault. If Clinton or Gore was President We would have had many terrorist attacks. We would have a depression because it came real close to a depression after 9-11 the Tax cuts helped minimize the affects of the attack. Best guess we would be in a police state run by the same moonbats. Demanding protection from the next terrorist attacks. the whole time committees meeting to figure out what to do next. The bleeding heart committees where it would be our blood.

24. These flounders really intend to walk the mean streets of Sequim with their freak flags held high until President Bush steps down? Suuuuuuuuuuuuure they will- until they find a Krispy Kreme.

And every day, we shall hear their plaintive cry for justice: "Allll we are sayyyyyyy-innnnnnng, is giiiive pizza a chaaaaaaaaaance..."

At least the signs make it easier to identify the village idiots. Harder to do in urban Seattle, where idiocy is a culture.

Posted by: ERNurse on March 31, 2006 07:56 AM
25. I'll be really disappointed if they don't hold true to their word and protest until 2009.

Of course, I won't be surprised if they don't.

And that is the problem with Democrats in a nutshell.

Posted by: Aaron on March 31, 2006 09:43 AM
26. Sequim is definitely an interesting town with some colorful folks, but this is much easier than you all are making it:

We're able to have this debate amongst ourselves because we're still alive! Thank you very much for that Mr. President. After all, dead people have no civil rights.

I'm compelled to point out to these good citizens that had it not been for a couple of diligent federal agents - and a lot of luck - there would have been a muslim extremist with a powerful explosive device in his trunk passing very near the spot where they are "protesting."

Such things must never be left to luck.

29. By the look of how fat they are-it'll do them some good to march back and forth one hour each day-could this be our answer to fighting obesity in America?

30. This string is a pretty good representation of why we'll never have a victory - large or small - again in this state.

Can't we at least try to engage these people with a divergent ideas?

Ah, but maybe you all are right... the "eewww, they're so fat" gambit has gotten us this far....

Posted by: speedloaded on March 31, 2006 10:50 PM
31. So Which one are you Speedloader? Are you in the picture engaging this folks with divergent ideas? When will you be there? I'll call the press. I think you will find their tolerance and open-mindedness only applys when you agree with their views. You can fix fat (they simply haven't chosen to), you can't fix stupid (if they don't want to be fixed).

Posted by: Just Wondering on April 1, 2006 07:26 AM
32. loaded,

Read my first post.

Did I or did I not engage?

Did any of the overweight loony lefties respond?

No.

They can't.

They have no facts, points of law, rationality or logic.

They only hate GWB and feel that he is not good (my judgemental aren't we) for the country.

Feelings won't feed the bulldog, facts, laws, and logic will.
