Lawskys cancel voter registrations
Island County Auditor Suzanne Sinclair e-mailed this update regarding Ellen and David Lawsky, the Washington DC couple who were registered to vote at Joel Connelly's Whidbey Island vacation cabin:
We received a letter from the Lawskys requesting our office to cancel their registration.
Good.

1. YES, YES, YES!
Now 10.000 + more to go.
2. Whoooah... I thought Joel said they were legit'!!
3. Oh, isn't that special. Can Joel Connelly "cancel" his complicity in voter fraud that is apparent in this case?
4. Oh crud.. Does this mean I have to stop voting at my previous residence address? Here I thought I was entitled to based on the "sweat equity" I had in it.
(and since, this is the internet, I should add.. SARCASM ALERT!) :D
2 fewer illegitimate votes in our next election. Thank you Shark.
5. More important question is, will these be prosecuted on vote fraud? I for one would like to see them made an example, given their relatively high visibility in the media business.
6. So the voter database shows they voted last November. Are they going to slip away into the night, figuring that by canceling their "valid" registration, all is forgiven? Either they were legally entitled to vote here since Oct 2002 or not. Has the Island County auditor given any indication of what she would have done if they hadn't canceled?
7. i'm sure you've covered this before, but what is the auditor/registrar of voter's ability to cancel voter registrations? is it so cumbersome (burden of proof, procedural difficulty) that they just don't bother or are there other reasons the auditor wouldn't cancel a voter registration like the lawskys?
8. I think the more relevant question is if the Auditor will contact the Washington DC Auditor and confirm that the Lawskys voted illegally here in violation of the terms of their DC homestead exemption tax credit. Fraud, illegal voting, heck they should have stayed on the rolls, none of the Democrats in this state would have done anything about it.
9. Hmm.
Steve raises a good point. Their "retreat" is essentially an admission that it wasn't legit.
Connelly, for all his self-righteous indignation, also implicates himself by attempting to portray this as persecution.
Out of curiosity, if these folks were out of the country, how many days passed between the mailing of the ballot and the voting of those ballots? Long enough for Joel to send them overseas and get the return mailed in? What postmark was on the ballot envelope?
10. But JC said they lived there!
What about their right to vote?
They should sue Shark for voter rights violations, intimidation!
How dare Shark bring up a silly little trivial thing like legal registration to vote, and deny them the right to vote as many times as they can get a with.
/sarc (in case you didn't know
11. Ah, yes, just more of the liberal media skewering itself. Joel knew all along that it was a fraudulent registration. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he voted for them! No where does it say that their ballots were sent overseas, so one can presume they went to the cabin or treehouse or whatever it is called. Did Joel send the ballots to Belgium? Fat chance!
12. Clean...you aren't suggesting (gag) Connelly was involved in a "Manage Au Treehouse" are you? Bad Visual.
13. Good. But for every improperly registered voter discovered by Stefan, there's probably another 50 that are still unknown.
Imagine all of those absentee ballots sent to King County Moonbat dwellings where the former residents had not notified KCREALS of their new address.
14. So Connelly booted the Lawskys out of his humble abode and now the are homeless. I hope you are all satisfied.//sarcasm now off
Seriously, maybe Connelly had it right back in 2004 when he wrote a column entitled:
Conservatives have mastered the use of new media
As he said in this article, written while attending the Democratic National Convention:
The conservatives are disciplined, manipulative and aggressive.
Hey, isn't that true? And we are still here ready to go after you again Mr. C.
15. YESSSSSS! Two fewer people to be disenfranchised by, when I vote on statewide issues! Thank you, Stefan! Keep it going---
16. Washington State's new tourism motto, "Mi casu, su voto!"
And while looking up how to translate "vote" into Spanish, I ran across this fun site:
http://www.votolatino.org/
17. No wonder Joel Connolly was so upset at Stefan. When you get caught, you get scared!
18. I guess then that they voted in the Governor's race in '04. That would've taken the 'lead' down to 127 (or 131, depending on how you want to look at it).
19. I still want to know where fat boy's cars are registered.
20. Hey,
Where is Headless, JDB, etc.. to defend the actions of yon liberal? Come on guys, you got to have something to say...... Or is it that your foot still stuck in your mouth's.
21. If it hasn't been pointed out before, let me just say that I believe it was Stefan who first used the term "distributed vote fraud" to define what's going on in Washington State, and specifically Seattle. Joel Connelly was consistenly one of Stefan's biggest detractors, and now it seems clear why - RatF*ck Joel was caught with his pudgy fingers in the cookie jar.
But as others have posted, for every Joel, there are probably 1000 or more smarter people who are not so bold as to make a big stink about someone questioning registrations... what are we going to do about them? How are they going to get caught
22. Actually, it's Jim Miller who gets the credit for introducing the term "distributed vote fraud"
23. Has anyone looked to see if the Lawsky's voted in DC and WA for the 2004 general election? My guess is that they voted in DC and JC voted for them here.
24. These people need to be investigated. Who knows how many states they are voting in? It's possible that there is an organization of people who share residential addresses so that they can vote in multiple localities. The FBI and federal election agencies need to get control of this.
