Quality Of Life, Seattle Style.....

....It's still possible. Note the presence of....children. Bless the lil' critters, truly.

I shot this yesterday shortly after low tide - lowest of the year in fact - at Alki.

My son was off kayaking and sculling. (He comes home whipped; it's great).

So I took my daughter down to our corner of the city's front yard.

We may go back tomorrow. The "stumps" are old (really old) ferry dock pilings.

More here.

And for those bicyclists for whom a confrontation is NOT Job One - here too.

2. Sorry Dude, but the stated hierarchy is, State Patrol -- County Sheriff -- Town/City Police, in that order of horsepower. Unless the two wheelers had a parade permit they had no leagal standing for their "demonstration." On the best days those on two wheels are arrogant twits. Probably less than one percent actuall know how to use their stupid little antiquated junk. Next one who kicks at my door becasue I've said he shouldn't ride between cars gets "doored" contraption and all. County cops were correct in taking action.

3. Children in Seattle? That is a strange sight. Better not let them get too close to the UW, the elites there may want to part those kids out.

4. It's a beautiful place when it's not raining. As someone once said, "living in Seattle is like being in love with a beautiful woman who is sick all the time".

So Matt, can you explain why don't you want us natives to enjoy our hydro races for 3-days each August?

5. Should read "why you don't". My apologies for the poor grammar.
