Now here's a candidate who's committed to his constituents

Someone sent me this hilarious e-mail exchange between 41st District Democrat House candidate Dale Murphy, and the Chairman of the 5th District Democrats.

It appears that Murphy initially planned to run against Republican incumbent Glenn Anderson in the 5th, but changed his mind and instead challenged Republican incumbent Fred Jarrett in the 41st. Why?

The personal reasons for my decision include the fact that I want to work on cleaning out my late parents' junk (with my brother) so we can sell the house. This would be harder to do while commuting from the 5th.
Not to worry, Murphy may yet run in the 5th some day:
I currently have a broader circle of friends and former classmates I can tap into in the 41st (although increasingly they are moving into the 5th -- and at some point I may join them).

1. Hmm, as one who lives in the fifth already I say "Take your time pal. Just take all the time in the world before you move here."

2. The real question is how large of point spread does Fred beat this joker by.

4. Seems like the kind of guy who should already be living in his parents' basement. Why'd they make him move out?
