Darcy Burner, the publicity-shy candidate

Darcy Burner seems to be trying to conceal some of her campaign events from a general audience.

Postman has a hilarious post about Burner hiding from the cameras at campaign events.

Her bizarre insistence that campaign speeches are private conversations is inconsistent with her pledge for "no more secret meetings" with lobbyists.

Perhaps she realizes that when she fires up the nutroots base she comes across as extremist and unhinged. (e.g. this video).

Burner also seems reluctant to publicize her ties to far-left Democrats. Her supporters threw a temper tantrum when I posted this photo of Burner with Baghdad Jim. Now Burner's website is suspiciously silent about her upcoming fundraiser with Nancy Pelosi. Will we see photos of Darcy with Nancy? Hope so, but doubt it.

1. It's pretty ironic how all these trolls who come here and liberal bloggers talk about how "irrelevant" Stefan his, while they are blogging about him and coming to his blog to post.

You must be doing something right...

2. What Palouse said!

The 8th is NOT the 7th, and maybe the Burner campaign is finally starting to figure that out? I think Reichert needs to run ads showing that same Burner/McDermott photo.

3. The picture of Burner and McDermott is a great one to publicize, the goo-goo eyes that she is giving him are truly disturbing.

The post by a UW law school classmate of the former, short-lived law school student until she quit Darcy Burner is worth reading. Darcy Debates

The more people find out about Darcy the more they don't like this poser.

4. Sorry the link above has a typo in it. Here is the corrected link. Darcy Debates

And while I am at it here is a link to the YouTube video Darcy Ducks of Darcy not wanting to caught on video. A rather juvenile attempt by an out of touch candidate.

5. This is so amateur. Any appearance of limiting a public event will only come across as Burner trying to hide something. And especially in such a juvenile way of holding up a piece of paper and moving it around to block the camera. A lame attempt at suppression. Who's running Darcy Burner's campaign? What's next? "Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nahhh, we caaaan't hear you?" I can't recall another campaign for an office as high as that of a US Congress seat being run in such an inexperienced manner.

Given Darcy Burners age and limited experience, community service, etc. all of that should have been thought through up front and a good marketing plan devised. Sort of like the old adage that a lawyer always goes into the courtroom knowing every question that will be asked in advance. It's not hard to anticipate anything Burner would face and it reeks of a total lack of preparation.

I get the impression that Darcy Burner really believes that eagerness is a substitute for depth. And Rahm Emmanuel appears to have been blinded by the same.

6. Postman's blog was indeed funny, but the comments posted by the la-la-left-loonies were the truly hilarious part. Almost like they crossed over from an alternate reality. What a bunch!

8. darcy the drama queen wants to make Dave a siamese twin of GWB. Dave simply needs to juxtapose the drama queens non-answers with the non-answers of Nancy Pelosi. The drama queen gave the Reichert campaign the perfect opening when she brought up Pelosi's "1st 100 hours" in the her talking point performance that was advertised as a debate.

9. Is she running for Bush's job.

10. I for one love Ms. Burner's TV ad where she compares Dave Reichert to President Bush and says Reichert voted with him... then she goes on down the line listing all the "bad" things Dave has voted for. I say, GOOD on that one... GOOD on that one too... GOOD... GOOD... oh well, you get the picture. Everything she's against I'm for :-)

11. ...that's why I'm voting for Reichert.

12. Stefan, I would encourage you to let us know (on the off chance that there is a) next time Rove comes to town for Dave. I missed that one until it was too late!

13. Tucker @ 10 has a good point. All voters in our district who agree with him on privatizing social security, cutting vets' benefits, lowering the minimum wage, the non-existence of global warming, and a woman's right to choose will vote for Dave Reichert. The rest will vote for Darcy Burner.

Bye Dave!

14. Seems funny that even when Postman tries to balance out his leftist leanings, his anti-hisside posts are extremely tepid. There are a dozen things he could have written around and instead chose this minor thing. Probably some writer came up with it and it was too trite for the paper, so the powers put it on the blog.

15. You can see George Allen's campaign doing the same thing on YouTube- only it's his campaign manager! I say all's fair when the camera is there to capture macacawitz moments.
