A tale of two debts(I): Introduction

Articles on yesterday's Dotzauer divorce file hearing from reporters who were in the courtroom: The AP's Gene Johnson and The Herald's Scott North.

There are two curious Maria Cantwell/Ron Dotzauer debt transactions that the divorce records might help explain. The1999(?) loan that Dotzauer reportedly still owes Cantwell, and an account payable that Cantwell's 2000 Senate campaign owed campaign manager Dotzauer. Unfortunately, files won't be opened until after the election, but available facts raise questions whether the transactions might have been structured to help Dotzauer evade paying court-ordered obligations to his ex-wife. Either way, there seems to be a fair amount of back-scratching between a U.S. Senator and a lobbyist with business before the Senator. Voters deserve to know what's going on.

I have a post below about each transaction: The 1999(?) loan and the campaign account payable.

1. Stefan,

The WSJ this week reported on many republican and democrat members of congress who used campaign funds for inappropriate things.

Will you go on record, here and now, saying you call upon a full disclosure from every single republican and democrat who did this?

And you'll hold each republican and democrat to the same standard in terms of suggested proper action for them (e.g. resign)?

Until you do, your actions are nothing more than a series of ad hominem attacks...the ugliest of politics...personal muckraking in the personal lives of our elected politicians. Just like the incredible outrage you had when Cheney's homosexual daughter was brought into the election debates.

2. No Ed -- the difference is that Cantwell is our Senator -- I really don't give a rat's petute about any of the others -- the way she ran her first mud-slinging campaign with attack ads and half-truths (against an honorable man) while not reporting banking side-deals and then relying on a land-slide of suspicious "special ballots" was bad enough -- but to stand accused of ruining a marriage with the high probably of IRS and finance violations is beyond intollerable and could make her a cripple open to "blackmail" for the next six years...she needs to come clean -- Washington State deserves better representation...

3. The good news for all of you is that after Tuesday you'll have Maria to kick around as your Senator for six more years.

4. Personally, I prefer to see Stefan expending his time and energy on this non-issue that nobody cares about, especially inasmuch as Cantwell has the race locked up and all this is irrelevant.

Irrelevant, after all, is what Stefan does best.

Noticed Jim Caley's name as one of the accountants for Cantwell, didn't he own shares in Ron's business? Is it possible that Cantwell's
account owns part of a lobbist firm?

6. Say Fishbait;

Which of the 2 stories Sheriff hairdo told about the Bus driver is true. The one to the minions? or the one to the news.
Either way he is a liar, on par with Richard Pope.

Let's go dig up his domestic violence papers, and get those up here.

Come on you're a real journalist.......NOT.

7. Ivan;

Stephan is the Don Quioxte of crooked causes, and tilts at any windmill he can.

Come on Guppy what about a little voter fraud by Coultergeist? Let's get that Felony on her to keep her from voting.

Or are some Felons, like the ones who voted for Rossi okay...... Hypocrite/loser.

So you are part of the 22% of the Jews that don't get it. I am ashamed, that you are a MOT.

8. What does my being Jewish have to do with anything on this thread? Beat it, bigot.

9. Way to go danw - it takes a lot to make iban look (comparatively) smart, but you managed it with panache (well, as much panache as someone with shiite on their lips can).

Thanks pal!

10. Just because I happen to be Jewish as well.
and you are just part of the 22% who are not using your critical think skills. So I am just a bit sad that the stuff you spew and the depths you will sink are a reflection on us all.
