You can hear him on the Brian Suits show at 4 this afternoon.
Beren will speak on the May 1 decision by the U.S. District Court of Appeals upholding a lower court ruling that McDermott had violated the law by leaking an illegal taped conversation. McDermott broke congressional ethics rules and also is liable for $700,000 in damages and legal fees.
And while they are discussing Seattle's "congressman for life", they might also get around to McDermott's award from CAIR, or the possibility that Saddam tried to bribe McDermott.
(Incidentally, the taped conversation was innocuous; as the 2000 Almanac of American Politics noted, much of the conversation was "taken up by discussions of how to comply with the agreement" Gingrich had made with the ethics committee. Nevertheless, the Democratic activists who taped the call, McDermott, and several journalists all believed that the tape was evidence that Gingrich was not keeping the agreement.)
Posted by Jim Miller at May 02, 2007 03:29 PM | Email ThisHow can the Dems possibly, with a straght-face, express concern about illegal wiretapping of moronic LEFTIST PINHEADED KLOWNS when Jimmy is guilty of this.
I hope Boenher goes after every dime of that judgment & makes every step PUBLIC to see what a low-life McDimwit is in trying to shield his house & other assets from collecting on the judgment.

Posted by: DJ on May 2, 2007 07:50 PMYour kidding right? What's is my nic.. I was a MEDIC and flew in DUST-OFF. Try looking up my MOS if you know what that is?
We were the guys who flew in under fire to EVAC the wounded and Rescue down pilots.
By the way Cato I joined in 1971 right out of hight school. and your point is?
I was in places like Cam Rahn Bay and Nha Trang.
We flew UH-1 (hueys)
Any thing else. (-:
Posted by: Army Medic/Vet on May 2, 2007 10:04 PMI loved Franken's show, listening to him replay Rush, and laugh at how insanely dishonest he is.
What a frigging pig.
I missed Beren on the radio. Did he mention the fact that Jim wasn't ever investigated, or indicted? I guess there weren't enough "loyal Bushie types' to tip the scales of justice that far to the right.
Did Beren also explain why Boner didn't sue the newspapers that printed the story. They did exactly the same thing ol Jim did.
Seems kinda funny how you want Jim punished, but yet you defend the traitors that conspired, and outed a covert CIA agent, and lied to cover it up. Telling the truth vs treason. Hmmmmm what does right wing world say?
The way I see it, a Republicon is expected to be corrupt, and commit treason. Just ask the Abramoff, DeLay gang.
Jim handed a tape to the press, that he didn't know was taped illegally. Geee willakers that is reeeeel bad. Ten times as bad as letting lobbyists write your floor speeches (Ney), doing deals for ol Jackie (Safavian), stealing your state's workers comp fund to give $$$$ to Republicon candidates (Noe) and the list goes on and on and on and on. I won't even mention Cunningham, or the soon to be indicted Duncan Hunter, or Jerry Lewis. Not to mention Foley, who will also be facing charges. Is there any Republicon congressmen that won't be doing time?
Boy that Jim is a reeeeeel bad congressman. He should just be taking bribes like all them Republicons. Nothing wrong with taking bribes in right wing world! In fact it is expected.

I did and still have the wound in my left hand to prove it!
LOL.. loser!
Posted by: Army Medic/Vet on May 2, 2007 10:10 PMYeah, Lies... we know what you mean.
Kinda like Democrap Congressman William Jefferson, and that cold, hard cash in his freezer.
Look, I can appreciate how embarrassing it must be for a congressman you worship to have both broken the law and violated congressional ethics. But that's the fact of the matter.
Being a leftist scumbag, however, you're incapable of applying the same standard to McDermott that you do to Republicans. And there's a word for that.... go look it up.
Posted by: Hinton on May 2, 2007 10:11 PMLOL, sorry Hinton. FACTS went to a public school, he can't look it up!
Sorry I know it was dumb, but he makes it SOOO easy
Posted by: Army Medic/Vet on May 2, 2007 10:15 PMThe cons knew how many of their buddies were gonna be indicted, and had to at least entrap one democrat to say "they are just as bad" right?
Why has Jefferson not been indicted?
Entrapment.
I am not saying he did nothing wrong, for I think he should be prosecuted. He probably won't be because of entrapment.
We all know Jefferson was set up. I just wonder why he was the only one...... Anyone that knows how the Bush Crime Family operates knows why. The ignorant will never understand.
Now folks. Tell me with a straight face DeLay would turn down $100,000 cash. Oh by the way. You didn't defend all those Republicon congressmen we have already locked up. Even with democrats being prosecuted 5 to 1 with the "loyal bushie" prosecutors.
Posted by: Facts on May 2, 2007 10:22 PMYou must have either read Ron Alexander's "Taking Fire" or else you probably were in 'Nam:-)
Must have been nice and easy with those big Red Crosses on your uniforms and painted on your birds; that way the VC and NVA knew not to shoot at you while evacuating wounded.
So much for them UN rules.
I've never read Taking fire (Ron Alexander) but I may check it out.
Centaur flights was a good book if you enjoy reading about Nam.
VietNam was ugly, really really ugly. Medic's recollections support stories I heard also. I was not one of the protesting masses so I heard from real soldiers. Myself, I was preparing to head over there, but Nixon called off the draft about a month after my physical.
Posted by: swatter on May 3, 2007 07:51 AMWhy do you worship politicians? I know that does not include anyone with an R behind their name. I would also ask that of anyone that worships Republican politicians.
How many examples of government incompetence do you need before you realize you don't want them to have any more power than is necessary (be careful of what you consider necessary).
I wont defend corrupt Republicans or corrupt Democrats. They all need to be gotten rid of.
Anyone that stays for more than 3 terms as a congressman, or 2 terms as a senator should be viewed with suspicion.
Learn to read through the BS. Both sides will say or do anything to stay in power. It is all about that and very little to do with what is good for the people. They use that to get power, but it is quite obvious they really don't care they have theirs.
Quit being so prejudiced. Look at the person not the party.
Posted by: REBEL on May 3, 2007 07:51 AMWhat gave you that impression?
many examples of government incompetence
How many more time will I have to hear Private Enterprise will solve all out problems? Only thing private enterprise cares about is how much money they can make and how fast they can make it.
Anyone that stays for more than 3 terms as a congressman, or 2 terms as a senator should be viewed with suspicion.
So we should get rid of Reichart this year? He might just be going on to his third term this year.
Both sides will say or do anything to stay in power.
I agree 100%...I just don't feel Private Enterprise will do anything if theres not a profit to be made doing it.
Quit being so prejudiced. Look at the person not the party.
I do, I vote for whom best reflects my views regardless of party.
No offense meant. You just bring it up so much I was just curious what you did during the war.
