King County Elections E-mails (VIII): What problems is Sherril Huff concealing?
According to this Sep. 29, 2006 e-mail from Sherril Huff to staff, Huff's reaction to a proposed workplan from IT staff was:
spending a fitful night remembering all the possible problems we can experiece. Probllems that jeopardise the ability to have a preparation process free of the issues experienced in the primary
[spelling errors in the original]. It's not clear from the context what problems occurred in the primary that would cause Huff to lose sleep reminiscing about them. But it sounds like they must have been pretty bad and should have been disclosed to the public.
I'm still going through the e-mails to try to figure out what problems Huff was referring to. But I doubt I've been given all the details. As I noted last week, Huff produced only 2 e-mails from the entire month of September (both trivial received emails). This particular e-mail was not in Huff's folder, but in another employee's inbox folder. Huff did not produce any of her sent e-mails for either September or October. The rules for retention of e-mails are complex, but failure to produce all of one's sent e-mails for a two-month period doesn't seem kosher.

2. Randy, you mean you haven't ever heard of the primary spelling/grammar rule for the KC elections board? It's "D before R always, unless there is no way we can get away with it."
3. Wait, I thought that they were all so "educated" and we were the Luddites, hmmm. Cute comment at 2 rbb!
4. Spell check might take care of the spelling, but the incomplete sentences and grammar... Randy, you are too kind. I wish I had thought of "D before R", very good.
5. Pretty boring stuff, Stefan. Can't you do better on your whispering witch hunts?
6. Hey, "Yawn" (alkatmartin@msn.com) are you this Al Martin?
