Bad Seed

Pierce County is now joining King County and mounting a criminal investigation into voter registration fraud apparently committed by ACORN last year.

A couple of related things I still find intriguing.

1) The involvement of ACORN/Project Vote in the illegal counting of the "fatal pend" provisional ballots in 2004.

2) Ron Sims seems to have a special interest in ACORN. When I requested King County Elections e-mails from last year, I received numerous e-mails from staff to: and cc: Sims, but only a few e-mails from Sims to Elections staff. The only back-and-forth communication between Sims and staff that I received was this exchange with spokeswoman Bobbie Egan, regarding the first news reports about late ACORN voter registrations. I have to wonder why Sims expressed more interest in ACORN than any other elections issue last fall. (and he seems to be commending Egan for downplaying the problems with the ACORN registrations).

1. Stefan, saw this story on King5.com today. Great follow up with the public records, including the email exchange between Egan and Sims. Intriguing to see how pols communicate with staff, "I greatly admire you, etc." Note: the second document ("downplaying") is a pdf from Egan to staff, not from Sims to Egan.

3. Sims should come clean and tell the public why he's such fan of a group clearly associated with voter registration fraud.

5. It looks like Postman doesn't seem to think that the ACORN story is worth his consideration as the political expert at the Times. Maybe he should stay away from "hard news" and concentrate on Darcy Burner and Christine Gregiore, afterall they are buying his scotch.

6. I hope they have to buy his cigars too, especially after these Moron Democrats are trying to raise the Cigar tax from 4.5 cent to $10 PER CIGAR, a 20,000% increase..

7. Because ACORN provisionals are the most likely reason why Gregoire is in office. ACORN was the machinery that took advantage of King County's lax procedures and shoddy accounting to create the votes needed to push Gregoire over the top for the win.

It's no wonder Sims is interested in, AND worried about ACORN. Improper and unverified ACORN-like provisional ballots were the ones that Bill Huennekens said should not have been counted. But they were, along with a lot of storage facility and mailbox facility ballots. All it took was a bit more than 100 improper ballots to deliver the election to the Queen.

But it won't happen again. Now we know Sims' tricks.

8. Bill Huennekens should be wearing an orange jumpsuit right now. The guy did something that he knew was wrong. I watched him walk around the special recount facility convened near Boeing Field in December 2004. I stared him down, and he had the look of guilt in his eyes.

King County Elections personnel were not concerned with slowing down and delivering an accurate result in 2004, instead they were concerned with following orders from their partisan superiors.

Every citizen has a duty to do what's right, and to blow the whistle when they witness something improper. Cowardly silence is probably par for most government employees.

9. They know they cheated.

Watch the reactions and body language of those being interviewed.

The question is, will they be allowed to get away with it again in '08?

If the Republicans in Washington don't find their nuts, this will happen every election, aided by the Leftist seattle media.

What are all you rich brats going to do about it?

10. THe bottom line I see was that ACORN wanted to challenge registrations in court. Forcing acceptance of their registations no matter what. Weaken the laws and open the door for even more Fraud. Many of the ACORN registered voters where fake voters. This was happening across the country. If ACORN name was on it figure a lot of phoney voters. To many articles from too many states questioned ACORN registered voters. It has taken 3 years for WA to open its eyes. But Oct 12 Tennesse said ACORN Key Player in Voter Registration Fraud, Florida, Missouri, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Ohio, Illinois and many others. No wonder Sims was interested in these ballots. ACORN has a history of Voter Fraud and his involvement appears that he supports thier efforts. I saw no mention of concern for voting fraud or invalid registrations. His concern was to get things moving with very little press involvement. Do not want want the press to investigate this group. Not that our local media will look pass the Beer/Wine glass as they investigate ACORN from the local bar.

Most of the newspaper articles are no longer available. But titles can be read just do a search for "Acorn Voter Registration Problems" Support for this group because of its activities brings in questions the desires of a clean election or a drive to register non citizens to vote in elections.
My feelings if you are not a US Citizen and you vote in a National Election. No chance of ever getting US Citizenship. You have violated a trust and should never be trusted with US Citizenship. They should be considered Guilty and have to prove they did not vote. IF a group is voting in a non citizens name that group should be fined 10000. COnsidered a felony. and that person who did the voting once found guilty would never get the right to vote again in any state. If attempt to register to vote would face jail time. If found to vote multiple times. Jail time of min of 1 year for each illegal vote cast. No time off for good behavior. Voter Fraud needs to be taken seriously. One vote, One US Citizen. No exceptions.

11. The ACORN factor could happen again. If Sims and the Dem machine in King County think they can get away with it, it definitely could !

The question is; how could this be stopped ?

Posted by: KS on July 23, 2007 10:16 PM
12. It will only be stopped when a Democratic whistle blower provides a smoking gun to the AG Office as no laws are obviously being broken. Incompetence is not against the law. Praising incompetence is absurd but not illegal. We were told by Judge Bridge that one must prove a conspiracy and that conspiracy damaged the election by providing winning votes to the the winner.

Given that the ballots are cast in secret it would be virtually impossible to prove that the contest was shifted because of fraudulent votes with paw prints. Consider the following example:

100 people voted; 105 votes are counted. The winner garnered 53 votes, the loser 52 votes. Is there a problem? Sure. Is it illegal? Not according to Judge Bridge, unless on can prove that a conspiracy existed and that the additional 5 votes were cast in favor of the victor. This in part occurred during the 2004 election.

There is nothing short of proving conspiracy that will stopped dishonest elections.

13. "Incompetence is not against the law. "

Oops. Sorry about not paying any attention to that stop light, I must be incompetent. -> Congratulations on your felony conviction for manslaughter.

The standard Judge Bridge was stating is the level required to overturn the election. That's a completely different level than being able to prosecute individuals involved.

The law on the 'absentee reconciliation form' does not involve intent. -> Felony.
