Rotten Nuts
Catching up on some news, yesterday's Seattle Times presented a pretty clear case that someone needs to throw the book at ACORN. Their repeated shenanigans across the country continue to be prosecuted in silo when they get caught. It would be splendid to see that dynamic change, whether within the judicial system or at worst within the court of public opinion.

1. Does the term RICO ring a bell.....these peolple should be charged with racketeering and put away for a very long time. State/Federal government should pull their non-profit status. Also, registering voters should be left only to government organizations who can and will verify citizenship status.....allowing any one else to register voters invites massive voter fraud.
2. What Allan said, big time.
Just the multi-state blatent frauds by ACORN that have already been reported by the media should be more than enough for a serious grand jury RICO indictment.... and whadda ya wannna bet we haven't heard about all the ACORN violations yet.
3. Throw ALL the cheating bastards in jail.
I doubt if the emasculated Republicans will be able to do anything at all in Wa.
4. Despite the fraudulent registrations, and despite the sheer incompetence of some ACORN people, the fact remains that IN ADDITION they have registered hundreds of thousands of people totally legally and above board, and those registrations will stand up to examination, and those people will vote.
That's why you righties fear them.
5. ivan (the commie);
Of course you defend ACORN. It is quite apparent that you are for the overthrow of the United States.
Which brand of communism do you prefer in its place?
6. ivan: Us so called righties aren't afraid of legally registered voter.....what we don't like is the vast numbers of fraudulant registrations being submitted by organizations like acorn. There are also a lot of illegals registerng to vote when they get there license thru motor voter laws. Fraud...you can bank on that. I don't know about you, but I prefer to have voter ID cards for each and every voter. We should all have to re-register with proof of citizenship. No proof, no voter registration.
7. Allan @ 1 & Ken @ 2: I'm not sure it matters so much precisely who facilitates getting the blank registration cards into the hands of 18 year-olds, newly naturalized citizens, and people who have just moved. What matters is that we have a robust system to verify the eligibility of each applicant... which we currently do not, partially thanks to ACORN. If all that ACORN was able to do by submitting stacks and stacks of fraudulent applications was to bog down the system, but without slipping any non-existent voters through, and if there were stonger penalties for submitting fraudulent registrations, and if it were quickly and reliably prosecuted, ACORN would behave, and I think they would be within their rights to do massive registration drives, as would right-leaning groups. Of course, that's all hypothetical.
8. Allan @ 6: Amen.
9. It would be nice if we citizens could trust non-government sources assisting in voter registration, but history has proven otherwise. Since running clean elections is one of the few constitutional requirements of government, it should take the lead and start over with all voter rolls. As long as the gov provides voter ID cards at no expense, no one can ever claim that anyone is denied their rights to vote. If you remember the elections in Iraw, ink was used when a person voted to ensure they didn't vote elsewhere. I wonder why the democrats are so afraid of re-registration?.......could it be they know they will loose huge amount of illegal voters?.....also making it harder to commit voter during election cycles. If we wish to remain a Representative Republic, clearing up voter registration is the best place to start. No illegals, no felons, no multiple votes, etc. Lets hope that we can get people with enough common sense to make this happen.
10. ACORN's history makes for pretty interesting reading. The Clinton Administration found that ACORN was misspending government grants designed to help counsel the poor. Although it seeks minimum wage increases in cities and states across the country -- ACORN sued the state of California to get out of paying its own employees the state minimum wage.

11. Unfortunetly I am sure that ACORN has plenty of scapegoats they will hand over and keep doing business as usual.
12. One way to get rid of them is to remove them from being a tax exempt organization. They are in for two reasons, register as many voters-legal and illegal and for the huge amount of funds they recieve in a tax exempt status. .
13. More evidence about the slimenuts organization known as ACORN.

Do they team up with the Daily KOS on a regular basis ?
