1. One can both believe in God and acknowledge unequivocally that the Earth is more than 6,000 years old.
2. Regulating people's sexual lives is not the primary function of the federal government.
3. Mike Huckabee is less a conservative in the modern sense of the term than he is a faith-based populist, a throwback to William Jennings Bryan more than an heir to Goldwater and Reagan.
4. Huckabee will not have either first or second place on the Republican ticket this year.
5. There doesn't seem to be much point to "looking ahead".
