Demonstrating the sometimes dichotomy that is Joel Connelly, he follows the post I criticized below with a classy acknowledgment of one of my favorite people in local politics: Tony Williams.
Tony is a valued friend and mentor...who also happens to share my deliciously warped sense of humor. His wife Cindi is likewise one of the most fabulous people I have had the pleasure of working with in my professional career.
Delightfully, they will both probably blush at such praise. Well, Tony might actually grin ear-to-ear. But, Cindi would blush.
And speaking of their son, whom Connelly references in his laudatory post, you can read about the miracle that is Joshua in a 1999 op-ed by Tony, at whose reading my eyes still mist and my wife still weeps.

A constitutional crisis will rip our country apart. If this is not cleared up now we will have a crisis. If you care at all about America you must call for Mr. Obama to produce the documents and prove that he is eligible to be President.
I'm sure Tony Williams is a wonderful human being as well, but there are too many wonderful people in politics that are more obsessed with getting a large paycheck than silly old-fashioned stufff like ideas, reform, and principled leadership.
