...I ran the table in the Jeopardy! category on "Economics."
Can I claim a degree on the subject now if I run for Congress...or do I have to stay at a Holiday Inn Express first?
Posted by Eric Earling at October 23, 2008 08:08 PM | Email ThisIt's just a matter of geography. For example, if you are the Governor of Alaska, you are not qualified to do much of anything, except go shopping.
Posted by: bananaland on October 23, 2008 08:53 PMIf you can answer those, then you're qualified to be a Slavery Party Economics candidate for Congress!
Posted by: Shanghai Dan on October 23, 2008 10:03 PMNow, maybe John McCain could spend a night there so he could start "getting" it about the economy. Also, maybe Bush should spend a few nights there and wise up to keep his mouth shut. Almost everytime he holds a morning news conference, the stock market goes down on that day. I loved Will Ferrell last night on SNL making reference to this (i.e., why he was holding a news briefing at night). Will Ferrell also had it right on that Bush as probably has (informally) declared a no-bummer zone. It would get very depressing, otherwise, in the White House.
Now, the only question, Eric, how good are you at Latin Literature, or some of the other obscure topics on Jeopardy?
Posted by: tc on October 24, 2008 07:18 AMIsn't it funny that finally now that we are in crunch time the Wall Street people are coming out with their version of Obama Mania (i.e. complete mania whenever the new polls show McCain gaining).
It was Maria Bartiroma (sorry spelling freaks, but this is the best you are getting from me) who trolled the pits about a 1/2 hour before closing when the latest polls came out favoring sanity and a McCain victory possibility. In the pits, she heard from several traders that it was the good polls showing McCain gaining that caused the 300 point increase at the end of trading.
Doesn't fit your foolishness, tc, nor your beloved Will Ferrell.
Posted by: swatter on October 24, 2008 07:27 AMYou hit it on the head. Wallstreet is scared of More gov/Obama programs. Money will dry up fast.
Sorry neither party is talking about what really caused the this mess and the best way to fix it. Yes libs.. it was the government who caused it.
Posted by: Army Medic/Vet on October 24, 2008 08:01 AMUntil we can get McCain, I expect a whole lot of ups and downs.
In the previous post, I was referring to 'actual' comments reported by Maria B.
And Medic, when you agreed, I thought you were referring to the need for Eric to stay at the Holiday Inn Express before declaring himself an econ major, even if he ran the board on Jeopardy.
Posted by: swatter on October 24, 2008 08:11 AMLook this is easy to resolve. Just look at her diploma for the word "Economics". If it's not there, then she doesn't have a degree in the field.
Why? Will knowing a few words of Latin make him a priest?
Tempus Fugit (Time Flies)
There. Now I am an expert in all things theological. Don't you DARE disagree with me on any topic theoligical.
