Other state & local races - UPDATED

I-985 is toast. It's getting killed in Snohomish and Kitsap. It's numbers east of the Cascades are wretched...which aligns with some private polling I was made aware of. Eastern Washington folks saw this as a grab of local money to pay for Puget Sound transportation problems. They didn't like it.

I-1000 is passing.

McKenna winning comfortably.

Sutherland - based on the Snohomish county returns - will be a close one requiring days of absentee watching.

The Dorn-Bergeson race looks close too. More on that in the next 24 hours.

Kevin Parker has an early lead in the 6th LD. Based on past election cycle trends, that puts him in great position.

Early, narrow lead for Jan Angel in the 26th LD. Good sign.

Mike Hope down 6% in the 44th LD. That race will close in the coming days but that's a tough margin to overcome with that many votes counted. Top tier, well-funded Republican legislative candidates are doing well. Elsewhere, it's tougher so far.

Sound Transit's Prop. 1 is up 10% in Snohomish County. Probably going to pass once King County weighs in.

UPDATE: Per comment #3, click on any county at this link and you'll get the relevant results. All the individual race results pages at vote.wa.gov also allow you to break down results by county.

UPDATE II: When the vote.wa.gov site actually works, here's a map of legislative districts you can click on for easy results.

I'm watching the race in the 10th LD between quasi-incumbent Norma Smith (R) and challenger Timothy Knue (D). He has a 51% - 49% lead at this point, but she has a habit of closing campaigns strong so that could tighten.

1. Jan is up with only the Kitsap half reporting--and the Pierce half is usually better for Republicans. Go Jan!

2. Tim Eyman needs to retire - his name associated with an initiative is now the kiss of death.

4. RE: Eyman... not necessarily. I've voted for most of his recent initiatives, but this one was bad.

5. Its lovely that transit Prop. 1 is passing, now I get to have more of my money taken for a rail system that probably wont really be up and running until the end of time...all the while being considered some kind of retarded neanderthal by goverment because I choose to drive.

6. Looks like time to statrt doing all of my shopping outside of the Sound Transit district.

7. Why would 985 even be statewide? that makes no sense.

8. Initiative 1000 passing is astonishing to me. They get us on both ends now - oh, well, we're all just tissue anyway.

9. Tim Eyman needs to give it a rest for several years.

10. And it's still up in the air as to whether or not Rossi is going to have to file a lawsuit to get the military ballots counted.

Weren't they, AGAIN, mailed after the Federally mandated 45 days out. They were mailed in October again....
State demoncraps do NOT want military ballots to count ever because they are too heavily conservative.

11. I truly believe that a dark age has arrived where common sense and sound judgment no longer exists. The epitome of the unsound judgment in the name of Obama will be the Potus, an unproven and completely useless Unsound Transit is getting a new line, a complete airhead Burner is leading... Arggggg... I am going mad....

12. I would agree with Trent that Jan Angel should be a little bit positive since the voters that know both candidates the best (both being from Port Orchard) gave the nod to Angel. Additionally, the Pierce end of the district is a very center region that will go either way depending on the candidate (e.g., the legislative district races have historically split tickets).

13. You folks should have made 985 an I-5 corridor thing. There's nothing in it for us accept a bill. Like strawberry said,"that makes no sense".
