The loyal reader has already figured out this contributor has been scaling back his blogging now that we're past the immediate post-election phase. I can't speak for other contributors, but that will continue for me as I focus on job hunting and quality time with my family...think 7-10 posts per week rather than 25+, or whatever pace I was at in the peak of the election cycle.
What the long-term future holds I'm not yet sure. Blogging has been a great experience for me (it's amazing the scope of people I otherwise know - of all political stripes - who keep up with Sound Politics). Yet, I don't earn a dime for it.
So, part of what I'm chewing on are ways in which in monetize my ability with the written word, including blogging. Updates to follow on that.

Posted by: jimmie-howya-doin on November 24, 2008 11:12 PMEric, what kind of position are you seeking?
Posted by: Duffman on November 25, 2008 05:15 AMAs for making writing a career. I have to say one more time... Your best asset is your word. If you say you are for one thing but do not vote accordingly, you will lose credibility with your audience. Keep that in mind in future elections and in general. People like to see politicians and the media stay consistant.
Posted by: Lysander on November 25, 2008 05:57 AMMy comment to Rags at the end of the Governing Post was mostly a call to Stefan to invite a couple of well-thought commenters to give a post a day. That is all it would take.
I have been reading on sidebar and have found the Senator and Jack LeCerveau quite insightful. Perhaps a reaching out would be good.
Eric, thanks for your posting. I don't know where you got the energy nor the time to do it. Sounds like you have a little burnout. Rest up. For me, a post a day is quite sufficient if Stefan can get three to do it. Yours would be one of the three.
Posted by: swatter on November 25, 2008 07:22 AMEric, that is not sustainable. If Boeing went along with it, it would be for the purposes of cutting losses and preparing to move out of Dodge.
Posted by: swatter on November 25, 2008 07:28 AMYou might want to start by writing in complete sentences.

Hey Eric, let's find a way to cull off all the dead-wood conservative columnists who haven't written anything useful since Bush Sr. was in office and move Pudge, Jim, you and I in their stead!
Posted by: Don Ward on November 26, 2008 02:25 AMI think that would be ME not I in that last sentence.
Just saying... :)
And yes I realize I am saying I happen to be one of the worst writers!!! I admit it...
I've always found that people who try to excuse their lack of attention to grammar typically write at the grade school level.
There is not a prize for catching it? :)
