Feeling A Little Warm?

Maybe this picture, taken in March, 2006, will give you a little psychic relief.

Mt. Rainier, March 2006

As I recall, the temperature at Mt. Rainier was a few degrees below freezing that day.

1. Gives one a true sense of 'chilling out'. :)

Nice pic, Jim.

2. Nice pix, Jim.

I don't know which would be better, watching "Ice Station Zebra" and imagine it were much cooler, or watch "Lawrence of Arabia" and imagine how much hotter it could be.

3. As someone else aptly put it elsewhere, between the temperature pushing 110 and jets flying overhead, you might just close your eyes and imagine what it would be like in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Except, you know, with even hotter temperatures, more jets, and bombs and small arms fire.

4. Even worse...imagine sustained heat like that with little or no water and/or food and the inability to even clean yourself, as in some parts of Africa. We have no complaints folks. :)

5. Ahhh, the memory of Rainier this spring is almost as good as the cool breeze we are getting this evening.

6. When do we get the next "Global Warming Update," y'know, the one where you relate local temperatures to the theory of man-made climate change? It's been awhile...

7. If you zoom-in on that person at the end of the trail it appears to resemble pudge (with his guitar)...could it be? :)

8. Doubt it...that would be too much work...

9. Nice Summit, but I'd rather have been a fly on the wall at the white house "beer summit" with the nutty professor and officer Crowley. I wonder if they had to get their credit cards out to pay for it like the CEO's had to when invited to lunch at the white house?

10. Interesting seque there Rick...but I'm thinking that 'we' paid for those beers. :)

11. Yep, these past few days forced me to add Air to my car. :)

12. By the looks of it, you really need to take advantage of the CARS program there, Duffman. As for the beers on the house, lunch isn't dichotomy...when you're a host and have guests over to your home, it's rude to charge them for the items they consume, don't you think? Especially when it was you that provided the invitation in the first place.

Nearly as tacky in decorum and protocol as the DVD box sets gift.

13. Funny that demo kid mentions Afghanistan which is hero Barack has intensified with NO plan for victory. Afghanistan will be remembered as a Vietnam for Barack.

14. Funny we seldom hear any more about Iraq, now that Bush is gone even though things have not changed much since 1/21/09. It is time to consider moving more troops out of there and bringing them back home.

Afghanistan is Obama's war and likely a tougher one over the long haul- his Vietnam. Thankfully he has Robert Gates for Sec. of Defense, who turned out pretty well for Bush so it may not be a total disaster, but no plan yet.
