Job opening right for local candidate

"Green Jobs Czar" Van Jones has resigned. A certain environmentally-pushy mayor has need of a new job come January. Ideas present themselves.

1. The two obvious candidates are Governor Gregoire and West Seattle Slim. I think Slim is at a disadvantage because of the low per diem for food that comes with the position. If Gregorie takes it, that leaves Brad Owen as Governor....geez.

2. Mayor Nickels has been such a dreadful mayor. A classic liberal hypocrite that tells everyone to take mass transit or bicycle to work while he rides in a limo. And Nickels, who appears to be at least 50 pounds overweight, could stand to do a bit of cycling. Liberals are hypocrites. Obama warns of a "planet in peril" and then takes to the skies nearly every single day spewing great quantities of the very fossil fuels he claims we should not use. What revolting people.

I can never forgive Nickels for frightening little children during a Christmas tree lighting ceremony downtown. He told them Santa might lose his home if we don't combat global warming. It makes me sick the way liberals try to use children to push their politics.

Yup, he'd probably be a perfect candidate to replace Van Jones.

3. As long as it doesn't involve snow-clearing or fear of plastic bags, he could be right for the position.

Posted by: Michele on September 6, 2009 11:17 AM
4. But Nickels isn't a cop hating, communist truther, those seem to be the qualifications for the job.

5. One communist down, one to go?

6. And Nickels, who appears to be at least 50 pounds overweight, could stand to do a bit of cycling.

The same could be said for the surgeon general. She doesn't look like she's missed to many meals herself.

7. I think more than one to go hinton. I could certainly be wrong but I expect Jones was not the only communist among the long list of Obama's "czars".

Obama is exactly what "far right wingnuts" such as Sean Hannity said he was. A far leftist. Obama's entire political career has been on the far left. Appointing guys like Jones confirms it.

As if we all shouldn't have had a clue when Obama said small town Americans "cling to their guns and religion". That should have told the entire country what a bigoted big city liberal this man is.

8. Yeah what's that all about, Rick D? Is that the woman who is going to be lecturing us about "healthy lifestyles"? She couldn't keep up with me and I probably have at least 15 years on her. And I eat lots of the bad stuff she probably will wag her finger at us about. Sometimes you just have to laugh at these silly people.

At least Reagan appointed a truly imposing and very fit Surgeon General, C. Everett Koop, who looked like one of those guys who burned witches in Salem. He's likely a very nice man but he always looked like the kind of fellow that would take a hickory switch to your posterior in a heartbeat.

9. don't forget about the various administration posts still unfilled because senate rules let random senators place permanent holds on nominations for petty grievances like not having such-and-such useless pew-pew fighter plane built in somebody-or-other's state or whatever

10. Dem Rep says "Public option leads to single payer":

11. One Commie down, another 1000 to go...

Posted by: Crusader on September 6, 2009 01:19 PM
12. I think you have it right Crusader, once the left manages to pass any health care bill they will ultimately find a way to get single payer. That's their goal.

Obama is going to push some sort of watered down "bipartisan compromise" bill this next week. What he really wants is to get the camel's nose under the tent.

13. Van "go" Jones: The art of whining

"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me,"

Translation: I'm a dirty, stinking communist and everything they say about me is true, but that doesn't mean it's not a smear campaign.

"I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past."

Translation: I'm an idiot that got caught in my own lies and strongly held beliefs. Like a good liberal, I'm blaming someone else for exposing my personal beliefs that result in my resignation.

14. The resignation of Van Jones is just, a temporary setback for Obama and his team. They will simply put fellow team member Van Jones somewhere else in his administration. In the meantime, Obama will simply bring some other member of his team forward until the position is filled. So, don't get complacent, this and other assignments of the obedient, like thinking anti-Americans of Obama's cohorts will continue to be placed in positions of power over the American people. Yes, Obama will not be restrained in the building of his personal Army. Like Hitler and his SA and SS, Obama's Army will be headed by his various Czars with the Americorps as his troops. Such a Deal!

15. Bill C,
I agree with you on Dr. Koop, but he did at least have a sense of humor. I was at a convention in D.C. back when Koop was Surgeon General and he spoke there. They also had The Capitol Steps* as the lunchtime entertainment. They did a parody song to the tune of "Little Deuce Coupe" (by the Beach Boys) called "Little Doc Koop". Talking about using condoms to protect against AIDS, the line was "He's the Little Doc Koop. He don't know what they got!" Koop came out at the very end of the song with rubber gloves, hat, etc. It was pretty funny.

*The Capitol Steps were originally a group of Congressional Staffers who put together Christmas shows with political parodies of Christmas songs.

16. Hey, before you go about saying that Van Jones was extreme remember that he had Bi-Partisan Support.

He could have just as likely ended up as part of a McCain or Romney adminstration.

Or even more likely part of a Republican governor's staff had he stayed in California.

Can't call someone who have received praise from both political party extreme can we!

20. Quite so Daniel. He is out of sight now but not out of the picture. Obamination has played a fairly sinister card that cannot be unplayed and demonstrated his true intentions of the agenda that he intends to impose upon America.

It will still take more time and more revelations but the American people are waking up to this sick klown. It only hope that it isn't too late...

22. You know there's someone else who has been talking a lot about "green jobs" of late.

I wonder if he knows Van Jones.

Of course even if he does he won't admit it now.

It is great when you have it on video isn't it.

I wonder if Reichert has spent much time in the Arctic?

Before republicans talk about how well the Democrats vent their own perhaps they should vent their own much better.

Let us not forget Larry Corrigan!

23. Personnel IS Policy.

Senior Aides for Both Dan Satterberg and Rob McKenna donated to the Mike McGinn campaign.

So, this is obviously not a problem with just the Democrats but instead is a bipartisan problem.

Never forget Personnel is Policy.

24. When I listened to what Van Jones was saying about the economy I thought, hey that sounds a lot like what Reichert has been saying.

Perhaps indeed Reichert was on the same cruise.

25. Bill H @#15--Thanks for relating that tale. I always knew Koop had a sense of humor. He just looked like a figure from the 16th century who would sentence people to the dunking stool.

Despite what liberals say most of us "right wing wingnuts" enjoy humor and can make fun of ourselves. We don't take ourselves too seriously. We also know how to tease each other in a nice way. An enjoyable part of life that tightly wound leftists can't begin to comprehend.

26. What is needed is a federal 'Obesity Czar.' Forget green jobs. We could put the 10% who are unemployed to work helping the 40% or so of obese Americans to lose weight. Voila, unemployment solved.

I believe we are ahead of the game in WA; the state has long had an office devoted to obesity and a statewide obesity-prevention coordinator.

Your tax $$$ at work...

27. "I believe we are ahead of the game in WA; the state has long had an office devoted to obesity and a statewide obesity-prevention coordinator."

I don't imagine Greg Nickels is a likely candidate for that office.

29. #13: lol, the worst thing you can do to a liberal is tell the truth about them to the public. It makes their heads explode. They're more used to pulling the wool over peoples' eyes about who they really area, instead. (Because, of course, they have to--how would people otherwise respond to "Hey, I'm about to pick a communist truther for this national position! Ain't it great?"

Posted by: Michele on September 7, 2009 08:38 PM
30. ..and you have to hand it to ol' Van Jones---he pulled a John Kerry on us with his "truther" petition escapade, which he signed and then expected us all to believe that he didn't believe in it (as Obama says he does not believe in it) but that "somehow" his name ended up on that little old list. (gremlins? little green men did it, maybe?)
lol, he might as well just come out and say about the Truther movement "I was FOR it before I was against it!"

31. I don't know if Reichert ever met Van Jones but he sure sounds like he has.

But I am sure he won't admit it.

This is not a Republican problem. This is not a Democrat problem. This is a bipartisan problem.

32. Van Jones was the ONLY honest person in Obama's administration. I am sorry to see him go. Nobody else is telling the truth about Obama's agenda. Only Jones did. He told us what he and Obama were all about. They are trying to repace capitalism with some sort of "green democracy" and replace oil with sunshine, and freedom with tyranny. They want to charge each and every person on the planet a "carbon tax", basically another way to take our money and give us thin air in return. I'll miss Van Jones. He was too truthful to be in Obama's socialist administration. They can't stand the truth getting out.

Posted by: scott on September 8, 2009 03:04 PM
33. The whole reason for a "green czar" is because the proposed Cap and Trade bill will kill millions of jobs. The socialists think they can replace them with "green jobs" It was Jones' job to try to figure out how to funnel government money (i.e our taxes) to commercially unviable green technology. Green Tech has no commercial value - otherwise we'd all be using "green electricity" by now! This is a veiled admission that Cap and Trade will destroy jobs.

Posted by: scott on September 9, 2009 07:46 AM
34. Yea Jones is gone. While I belive alternative forms of fuel and power should be encouraged cap and trade is the wrong answer! I liked the previous president's aproach to this he encourage it without putting our economy at stake!!

Posted by: Laurie on September 9, 2009 08:17 AM
35. Beth, cap and trade is supported in a bipartisan manner.

Dave Reichert talks about green jobs all the time.

36. Charlie Sheen is demanding 20 minutes with the President to talk to him about the 9/11 cover up!

As Michelle Malkin just said, Sheen should replace Jones.

I guess if you can be suckered into believing Global Warming, you can be excused for believing the 9/11 conspiracy stuff too.
