Susan Hutchison's speech to the Rotary Club of Seattle Skyline Rotary yesterday was both excellent and in depth.
She pointed out the shortcomings of current King County government and its seeming unwillingness to make hard choices or address the problems at hand, instead seeking to put band-aids on things like the possible failure of the Howard Hanson Dam or the fact that county government has continually made up budget shortfalls by raiding the rainy day fund.
She again used her "meatloaf not steak diet" line, referring to her opponent's wish to develop a Lake Washington ferry system all the while overlooking the more critical core services of county government like public safety.
Hutchison is the clear choice for anyone who is tired of the business as usual crowd running things. She's an outsider with plenty of executive experience in the private and non-profit sectors and is not afraid to change things up.
The first ten minutes of the speech is available below. The remaining four parts are available on the same YouTube channel.
