PDC launches formal investigation into Constantine "treasurergate"

I just received a call from Lori Anderson at the PDC who informed me that they will be moving forward with an investigation into Constantine campaign treasurer Jason Bennett's "moonlighting" as the treasurer for Independent Expenditure campaign financier "Citizens to Uphold the Constitution". Good for them.

Unfortunately they will not be pursuing the claim related to the cohabitation of Moxie Media and Northwest Passage because, amongst other things, they have separate locking doors to their respective office spaces and haven't operated jointly as a legal entity since Dec. 2008. And you know what, I totally believe them because I was born on October 5, 2009.

1. From the PDF dismissal letter you link to:

PDC staff spoke with Lisa Collins MacLean, a Partner and Principal of Moxie Media, and found the following:

Moxie Media and Northwest Passages [sic] Entered into a joint venture in January 2008. The joint venture was called MNP Partners. It existed and operated during 2008 and ceases to exist in December 2008. [Emphasis Added]

Oh really? If that was so, then why do the PDC's own online reports show expenditures to "MNP Partners" dated through 7/24/2009?

Ruh-roh. Did somebody lie or make misleading statements to the PDC?

2. Hey pdcnerd whats with the "Argo Strategies" expenditures for MNP Partners? Jason Bennett is listed as the owner of Argo Strategies.

3. Oh no! Didn't Dow tell the Seattle Times editorial board last week that this thing would be immediately dismissed? If I recall correctly, he said it was just a "nuisance" complaint, and everything was cheerio with his "accountant."

Chairman Constantine, call your office!

4. Y'all continue to find glee in this story and object to the lack of mainstream media coverage...

However, you STILL have failed to show any evidence that Dow Constantine or his campaign staff have done anything wrong.

At best, I continue to see what is a technical violation and might incur a fine. At worst, it appears that Jason Bennett or his consultancy mislead someone.

After all, no one tried to hide any affiliations. If they did, you wouldn't have signed PDC reports.

5. Mickymse must be one of the three blind mice. On a lot less evidence the PDC fell all over itself to get at Rossi the last election cycle. You remember all of the coverage and predetermined guilt that the Gregoire campaign and the SEIU spread around with the help of the local media. You do remember the "Independant" group headed by Faith Ireland, Robert Utter, FUSE and other Progressives that got Judge Calis to force Rossi into a deposition in the last week of the campaign, even though he was not a named party to the lawsuit. And you do remember that nothing ever happend with that lawsuit...right?

Sinderman, Bennett, Constantine, Kaushik all dirty and yes they will most likely get away with the behavior becasue they are loyal little democrats.
