I just received a call from Lori Anderson at the PDC who informed me that they will be moving forward with an investigation into Constantine campaign treasurer Jason Bennett's "moonlighting" as the treasurer for Independent Expenditure campaign financier "Citizens to Uphold the Constitution". Good for them.
Unfortunately they will not be pursuing the claim related to the cohabitation of Moxie Media and Northwest Passage because, amongst other things, they have separate locking doors to their respective office spaces and haven't operated jointly as a legal entity since Dec. 2008. And you know what, I totally believe them because I was born on October 5, 2009.
Posted by MarkGriswold at October 06, 2009 04:28 PM | Email ThisPDC staff spoke with Lisa Collins MacLean, a Partner and Principal of Moxie Media, and found the following:Moxie Media and Northwest Passages [sic] Entered into a joint venture in January 2008. The joint venture was called MNP Partners. It existed and operated during 2008 and ceases to exist in December 2008. [Emphasis Added]
Oh really? If that was so, then why do the PDC's own online reports show expenditures to "MNP Partners" dated through 7/24/2009?
Ruh-roh. Did somebody lie or make misleading statements to the PDC?

Posted by: clydeb on October 6, 2009 09:53 PMHowever, you STILL have failed to show any evidence that Dow Constantine or his campaign staff have done anything wrong.
At best, I continue to see what is a technical violation and might incur a fine. At worst, it appears that Jason Bennett or his consultancy mislead someone.
After all, no one tried to hide any affiliations. If they did, you wouldn't have signed PDC reports.
