Do the old big three networks have any news about climate? They have lots of news about the elite world leaders and their upcoming gathering in Copenhagen. But nothing about the scandal of ClimateGate disclosed in the emails. Nothing? So says Julia Seymore at Business and Media Institute.
Julia Seymore at BMI - 12 Days, 3 Networks and No Mention of ClimateGate Scandal:
It's been nearly two weeks since a scandal shook many people's faith in the scientists behind global warming alarmism. The scandal forced the University of East Anglia (UK) to divulge that it threw away raw temperature data and prompted the temporary resignation of Phil Jones of the university's Climate Research Unit.OK. One mention on three networks over 12 days on a news opinion show, not the straight news.Despite that resignation and calls by a U.S. senator to investigate the matter, ABC, CBS and NBC morning and evening news programming has remained silent - not mentioning a word about the scandal since it broke on Nov. 20, even as world leaders including President Barack Obama prepare to meet in Copenhagen, Denmark next week to promote a pact to reduce greenhouse gases.
Other news outlets, including The New York Times, Washington Post, CNN and Associated Press have deemed ClimateGate worthy of reporting, but the networks were too busy reporting on celebrity car accidents and the killer whale that ate a great white shark. Instead of airing a broadcast news segment that might inform the public about the science scandal, both ABC and CBS relegated the story to their Web sites. There was one mention of the scandal on ABC's Sunday talk show: "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."
The East Anglia Climatic Research Unit's director Phil Jones stepped down while he is be being investigated.
Albert Gore, Jr.'s favorite Michael Mann is under investigation by his university, Penn State.
So what? The entire Kyoto/Copenhagen need to hobble our economy is based on the "research" of these people. BMI's climate science adviser says this is not a smoking gun, but a mushroom-shaped cloud.
Brian? Katie? Whoever else anchors their news?
The Seattle Times finally put it high on their web edition; don't know where it is in the print edition. But they cast it as a political ploy of Republicans in Congress. Are there climate scientists who have something to say about this? Yes. Couldn't find them, eh, Times? How about Prof. Mann?
Honorable Jay Inslee says the e-mails somehow aren't stopping the Arctic from warming. What is your source of data, Congressman Inslee? Oh, the definitive source, of course. The IPCC's data from Phil Jones's CRU?
Any climate news? Part 1
Posted by Ron Hebron at December 03, 2009 08:02 AM | Email ThisThis scandal is killing the press also.
It's a win-win.
‘Truth is the daughter of time’ was forgotten by this specific Scientific Fiefdom, but acknowledgment of other traditional philosophies which built science to the current respect also have been ignored, such as “Science has no place in politics, religion, entertainment, fame and wealth”. Often, however, such important socially advancing fields as science need set backs and thus force both current and potential abusers to fall back to traditional thinking. This is the nature in the evolution of human thought and growth.
Recent events show the denial by these abusers of social trust, along with their followers, of the devastating magnitude of their deceptive and deviant activity while trying to maintain their stature in civilization. This denial will continue dragging the entire scientific community into the pit. Unfortunately, a self awakened reality of their misdeeds likely will not appear until admission followed by humility becomes obvious to society. Forgiveness is the divinity of our civilization but forgetting never can be allowed.
If this wasn't a religion before, it sure as hell is now.
What they won't mention is that this "majority" reached their conclusions at least partially based on research that is now proven to be fraudulent, and that many, if not most of those same scientists are now re-evaluating their opinions and asking for more data.
(Which, of course, the researchers under investigation can't provide because they supposedly dumped it.)
It's widening. And the rumor is that there's more being withheld, and that it will be released at another timely point, a la Breitbart and the ACORN scandal.

Your are correct in realizing the UN wants to Tax the West and any Country of the World to fund it's growth, power and takeover of the World. After all, it's all about Power and Money. Watch out for the growing all consuming UN for it's ultimate Aim is to one day Rule the World!
Thank goodness for the internet. The old media are a complete sham. They really do deserve the jab of "State-run media".
Posted by: Michele on December 3, 2009 11:57 AMGawd, this is funny. Buying and selling air has all kinds of funny side effects.
Posted by: Gary on December 3, 2009 12:42 PMAl Gore invented the internet - and Michael Mann invented the hockey stick.
Posted by: ajday on December 3, 2009 01:01 PMIf Barack has any sense, he'll cancel his trip too.
Next up... NASA!
Did you know that in 1988 James Hansen had a talk with a reporter from the Washington Post:
"If what you're saying about the greenhouse
effect is true, is anything going to look different down there in 20 years (which would be 2008)?"
"The West Side Highway [which runs along the Hudson River] will be under
water. And there will be tape across the windows across the street because
of high winds. "
-
And yet people still hang on his every word.
As for the Left's silence... Dems by 48% to 32% now think the AGW science is fraudulent.
Anyway, we're now demanding NASA's data and emails. We own it after all.
Hey, he's flipped on other things. I can dream.
Please stop pasting this crap all over the Internet. Thanks.
Posted by: oioioio on December 3, 2009 06:35 PM2. Gavin Schmidt at NASA is also linked with this scandal
3. Tom Karl at NOAA National Climatic Data Center is also linked in this scandal
4. James Hansen at NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies and advisor to AL GORE is also linked with this scandal
5. Multiple professors at numerous colleges are also linked with this scandal
It sounds to me that the government has bought and paid for a crisis to implement their solution.
Posted by: farmer in kansas on December 3, 2009 11:04 PMCap and Trade is dead for now, but Obama will be going to Copenhagen to talk, because that's what he does best.
Posted by: Jeff B. on December 4, 2009 07:58 AMI know, this is religion and logic is always trumped by it, but for the intellectually curious, here's where you too can see what the Seattle Times will never publish:

Plus, you get an added bonus of time travel. Bolt's an Australian, so you get tomorrow's news today.
Posted by: Insufficiently Sensitive on December 4, 2009 10:33 AMOnce compiled, it would not take much effort at all to simply plop the FOI2009.zip file on to a torrent server or other FTP server where it would be found quickly by spiders and other watchful eyes.
We now look back on Galileo as a hero who fought valiantly for his science, even when it was against the prevailing view. Future historians will judge the UEA CRU insider as a hero to science as well. Unfortunately for Galileo, he lived life pre-Internet, and thus spent his waning years suppressed.
Posted by: Jeff B. on December 4, 2009 10:55 AMOoops, the UEA CRU Emails dismiss that talking point too.
Look which companies had recently signed on to funding the AGW movement as a means for supporting the legitimacy of their Green Energy investments.

Go to the bottom and "show comments". There's like 500 comments, and like here, the Believers have dropped off the face of the earth. I scanned several pages and didn't find one Believer. The American people totally *get this* now.
Perhaps the Believers are restricted to AP journalists now.
Just broadcast on tonight's NBC news.
Brian Williams introduced their story pooh-poohing "Clmate-Gate". Close with a melting glacier and a blaring sun.
Brian's story the following second......
"A record breaking early snowfall in Houston" with the usual images of kids making snowmen.
What's happening here is significant. Liberals are being exposed for what they are. Liars.
Obama is one of the biggest liars. He constantly talks about a "planet in peril" and then flies somewhere nearly every day. His "carbon footprint" is massive. He could care less. He doesn't believe in man made climate change at all. If he did he'd be teleconferencing and riding around in a bullet proof electric car. Sick of these creeps yet?
Posted by: Bill Cruchon on December 4, 2009 06:17 PM"The Copenhagen summit will bring together 16,500 people from 192 countries. People that say they are concerned about global warming caused by human activity.
These true eco-believers will ignore the recently leaked e-mails from so-called scientists which show that the most prominent experts advocating global warming theory were hiding data that showed global cooling, attempting to suppress opposing opinions and were engaged in a criminal attempt to destroy their e-mails in order to avoid a Freedom of Information request.
The Copenhagen participants could have used new technology such as video conferencing to avoid producing an estimated 41,000 tons of carbon dioxide, roughly the same as the carbon emissions of Morocco in 2006. They could have avoided laying over 1,000 miles of computer cable, 50,000 square yards of carpet, and serving more than 200,000 meals.
They might as well call the event the "Copenhagen Hypocrite Conference," because environmentalism and hypocrisy are seen together so often.
The high priest of Copenhagen and Hollywood is the Oscar, Grammy and Nobel Prize winning patron saint of global calamity, Al Gore. He claims the planet "has a fever." He doesn't talk about the fact that he is on his way to becoming a billionaire via his carbon offset businesses and government connections.
Yet he jets around the world never disclosing his blatant conflicts of interest while preaching that we ought to lower our standard of living.
Meanwhile Gore and his wife Tipper, whose children all live elsewhere, live in a sprawling 20-room mansion outside of Nashville that uses 20 times the national average in electricity, including an indoor pool costing $500/month to heat.
Gore purchased "green" electricity in 2007 to deflect some of this criticism and lower his costs and his carbon footprint, still far larger than what he's preaching.
Another global warming alarmist, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. vociferously condemned coal-produced electricity yet aggressively campaigned against a Cape Cod wind farm that would generate carbon-free electricity because the windmills were a bit too close to the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port.
Celebrities and politicians alike justify their huge carbon footprints by buying carbon credits or offsets. Many of the companies engaged in selling these paper indulgences have been shown to be scams.
But scams can alleviate liberal guilt, especially in Hollywood."
It's not so much the premise of global climate change that I disdain, it is the asanine solutions that the Governments (i.e. US, UN) are proposing at the expense of smaller businesses/industries.
