James Watkins Is Running For Congress In The 1st District

Or so I learned from a press release this morning.  Here's why he says he's running:

I'm running for congress against career office-seeker Jay Inslee because our political class has lost touch with America and American values.  Career politicians have mortgaged Main Street to prop up Wall Street.  They ring up incredible budget deficits - with no end in sight — and ignore constituents asking them to slow down.  They can't be bothered to read new legislation before passing massive tax and regulatory burdens on working Americans - and then wonder why small businesses aren't hiring and manufacturers are outsourcing to China.   They're killing the American Dream.   We MUST do better!

You can learn more at his site, naturally.  I don't have anything to add to what you can learn there, except that I hope that he adds Lincoln and Washington to his list of heroes.

(I'll be glad to give a mention to any Republican candidate for Congress in this area, and even a Democrat or two, if they ask me nicely — and mention a post that I have written.)

1. He's a self made guy. Plus he is an NRA Life Member. Sounds like he'll be getting my vote.

Jay Inslee is so out of touch he might as well hang up now.

2. He's got my vote.

That said, and I hate to say this, I think Inslee loses if he gets caught with a dead girl. A live man won't do it. He sorta-kinda had trouble with Joe Marine in '02 (won by about 10pts I think), but otherwise hasn't had an even remotely close year since then.

It would take a tidal wave a lot bigger then '94 to take Inslee down.

3. If he were in my district, I'd vote for him. Everything he says is true. I feel like standing on the street corner holding a sign that says "Congress gone wild....save America---vote OUT the Democrats!"

4. We need term limits. The whole career politician thing has got to end. The fact that Kennedy went on to be a nine term senator after manslaughter is just disgusting. Almost all of them are out of touch, both sides of the aisle. Vote the bums out.

5. These guys will never vote in term limits on themselves. Wake up. And their results will be the undoing of our country over time but that's just the facts.

Anyway - the thing I want to hear from people who want my vote is the work "Repeal"

6. They run as our representatives, but once in office they act as our rulers. In truth, they are puppets. The lawyers and special interests run America.

7. Too bad he doesn't live in the 8th. I'll vote for just about anyone over the Sheriff next election. No, I won't vote for Burner, I would just abstain.

8. Michele, you make me laugh. Honest you do. You never heard of this guy and you'd vote for him. Sometimes I think you'd vote for Jeffrey Dahmer, Martin Pang, or Maurice Clemmons if they ran against a Democrat.

9. Tell us ivan...What great Values do the Democrats stand for, other than the Killing of Babies, spending us into perpetual Bankruptcy and destroying this Nation?

10. I would just abstain.

Then you're an idiot. Reichert won re-election in the worst year for R's since 1974 in a district Obama carried by double digits. If you expect him to be a firebreathing Jim DeMint type or a Cathy McMorris type, you're being totally unrealistic.

11. Now if we can just get someone with these concerns to run against the corrupt Norm Dicks. After 30 years in office he doesn't give a crap about deficits, reading bills or even considering about what's good for our country. He only wants more power and to get re-elected. About all you need to know about Norm is that he is a good buddy John Murtha.

12. Sorry Cliff, I voted for him twice, and his voting record doesn't represent me. Anyone who voted for cap and tax is not someone I will vote for. E-V-E-R.

13. The idea that Inslee is invincible is utter nonsense. His votes for Pelosi-Obama Care, Cap and Trade, and runaway spending measures will be his doom. Voters will not forgive him. Any reasonable candidate should be able to take him down.

Likewise, Patty Murray can be defeated. She is #3 in the Democrat leadership. It will be impossible for her to avoid responsibility for the atrocities Congress and Obama are inflicting on us.

14. Daniel @ 9:

In the best of worlds, Democrats would provide federal funding for the institutionalization and medication that you so obviously need. Have a very Merry Christmas and a calm, serene New Year.

15. Brilliant substantive retort...ivan. Typical vacuous Liberal Blab from one who hasn't a clue to where it is at. But then, little more is expected from a Liberal.
