Obamacare - Will It Fail to Pass?

President Obama on the campaign trail promised an open, bi-partisan reform of the health care system. Perhaps the "bi" referred to the internal debates, bribes and threats within the Democratic Party. And the "open"? The two health care reform bills, House and Senate, are being integrated into one by the Democratic leadership - behind closed doors. Expect white smoke above the Capitol Building signaling the crafting of a final bill. Next, the Dems will try to use their super majorities in Congress to ram through another unread multi thousand page bill sometime before the January 19 special election in Massachusetts to fill the late Teddy Kennedy's seat. Should the Republican candidate, Scott Brown, win, out goes the 60 vote Democrat strangle hold on the Senate and Obamacare just might be shelved until the 2010 congressional election campaign where the Democrats will blame Republicans and George W. Bush for their failure to pass reform.

Democratic control of Congress does not assure passage of any "consensus" legislation. The House Republican Conference has produced a paper, "Issues to Be Resolved Between Pelosi and Reid Health Care Bills", delineating the thorny issues that would need to be resolved between the House and Senate bills if the Democrats have any hope of seeing a Rose Garden Presidential signing ceremony. Don't be surprised, however, if chameleons Obama, Pelosi and Reid with a strong dose of Chicago Style politics pull it off.

1. It will pass.

In the coming years many faces of it will be shredded to pieces inside courtrooms across the nation.

2. By the way his name is Scott Brown, not Sam and good I hope he wins that way we might get a chance at a decent Healthcare Bill.

3. Will it fail to pass?

In its current form, I sure hope it fails. The things they should address they aren't, and I can't understand liberals who want to make us like Canada---inferior care with inadequate medical infrastructure. Makes no sense. They make no sense. And look at all the tax increases. Penalties on married people etc./ just shut this thing down.

4. Two words... "Scott Brown". If he takes Teddy's seat, I cannot emphasize how big of an earthquake that will be.

5. Mike caught my error. It is Scott Brown who is the Republican candidate for Senate in Massachusetts. He is closing in the polls but even if he wins, the Democrats will not seat him until the Massachusetts Secretary of State certifies the election. The Secretary will no doubt take the maximum possible time allowed which will keep Mr. Brown cooling his heels well into February or March.

6. Obamacare will Fail...PERIOD! There has been too much Exposure of this disastrous Bill for it to pass. There is now, too much disagreement within the Democrat majority on certain provisions for any amendments that will satisfy enough members of the House or Senate to ever get the Votes needed for final passage. Plus, America itself is waking up. There are a number of representatives that are up for reelection this year and with a more informed public, there will not be enough representatives willing to Vote for such a Bill and lose their seat for doing so. Thank GOD!

7. I wish it would fail but in as much as the senate and our senators in particular refuse to listen to or even acknowledge the will of the people I have lost much hope.

I am encouraged by what's happening in MA, but then again the hateful, conniving demoCRAPS have bragged they will refuse to seat Scott Brown until the healh 'care' vote has been taken.

I thank God for the 2nd tier media of blogs and internet that is usurping the MSM and keeping the folks informed. Granted our knowledge is not keeping them from their shenanigans but I do beleive there will come a tipping point and that we are close to it.

Unfortunately winning seats and taking over congess could be a mixed blessing for conservative. When it happened in 1994 it served to moderate Clinton and hence he was re-elected.

8. This is the most crooked and corrupt piece of legislation and the Congress that supports this has flipped the dissenting public the bird and is determined come hell or high water to pass this POS. As for this being a transparent process on C-SPAN - Ha ! It is becoming understood on both the right and left that Barack Obama lies whenever he moves his lips.

If just one Democrat in the Senate would show any integrity to be committed to their principles and vote this bill down, that would change the landscape. Bart Stupak may galvanize enough Dems in the House to vote this down there. They would reinsure their reelection if they did. Don't give up yet, there continues to be negative PR, plus it is widely believed that parts of this are unconstitutional and it will go the SCOTUS, upon signature.

#7 - even though this is a catastrophic election year, I don't expect the GOP to take control of the House, but expect to be within only a few votes of doing so. The Senate is out of play this time. Right now, the GOP does not have a concerted campaign - they may get one up and running soon, but not like 1994 - too much of the Bush hangover still, and believe that an steadying economy will help the Dems hold on to a very slim margin in the House. That will not help Obama's reelection chances in 2012.

In the meantime, the GOP and Tea Parties (teabaggers) need to get principled smaller government candidates who are dedicated to working for the grass roots who elect them.

9. If Scott Brown wins in MA, the operatives in MA and the WH will just maneuver to delay swearing him in until after the final vote is taken - and render the result inconsequential. That is Chicago style politics right there.

I disagree that if the bill is somehow defeated otherwise, the process for putting together another bill will be a different dynamic as the GOP will be in a position to have more say in the new bill, given the likely results of the Nov. 2010 election.

10. KDS...My hope to GOD is...That the Stench and Fallout from the attempt to pass this current Health Bill will be such, that another attempt to Socialize our Health Care will be a longtime coming.

11. We need to return to fee for service. I think the Libs need it for cash flow, they need to be denied.

12. The MA dems are planning to delay certification of the special election results for 12-14 days after Jan. 19 so the governor's appointee can vote FOR Obamacare. When a MA special election was last predicted to result in a dem victory, MA dems certified within 48-72 hours so the lib victor could vote for lib legislation.
The Reds are ideologically driven to support socialized medicine no matter what happens. Losing congress is a small price to pay (to them) if they can achieve socialized medicine or putting us firmly on the road moving towards socialized medicine. Libs believe the voters are stupid people who have short memories.

16. I contributed money to Scott Brown and everyone should consider doing so - even if they delay his certification (if he wins - and he can). There is great enthusiasm for him in Mass. and they are out of yard signs, etc.

17. I think this health care reform bill is doomed to failure. There are one too many pro-life Democrats in the House. Democrats in the Senate will compromise on anything but the funding of abortion. Everything else is negotiable but that is one firm stake in the ground.

We must be permitted to kill our children (oh, and you will fund it).

19. #18 -
I hope to God that you are correct. Hope that the GOP gets lawyered up should Scott Brown win in MA to force his swearing in before the final vote.

Otherwise, not passing this POS may be said to be a miracle.

20. Mike, keep waiting by the park men's restroom. Kevin Jennings will evetually show up looking for you. We all know that's the kind of "family values" libs/ reds/ commies stand for.....

Have a good time "fisting" each other.
