"Twisted Thinking of the Week" Award

Wow. Forgetting the incorrect claim that John Koster "has offered no long-term solution to the problems of funding ... county services," the main point of the letter -- that refusing to vote for tax increases is a "capitulation of the authority of the seat he occupies" -- is a special kind of crazy worthy of note ... especially when, at the same time, the letter-writer says that we should be cutting spending.

1. I wonder if this article from the Seattle Times in 2000 is the same Michael Ashley...a DEMOCRAT politician???
Here is some of the article text--
Ashley, 47, runs a family farm near Stanwood. He's emerged as an agricultural leader in recent years as farmers have struggled with county government over environmental regulations related to salmon preservation, the Clean Water Act and the state Growth Management Act.

"I don't see myself as a politician. I see myself as someone who wants to do the right thing," Ashley said. "Any politician I've ever talked to, I've said `Be a statesman first, politics come later.' "

4. John Koster is SO the better choice for the 2nd District. It's quite obvious that for this country, too-little taxing is not the problem. IT'S THE SPENDING, STUPID. That letter-writer doesn't have the clarity to see that. thank goodness John Koster does.
John Koster for WA 2nd congressional District.

5. I would also like to nominate far-left extremist Barack Obama for the 'twisted thinking' award:

Let's recall that he thought the Capital Gains tax rate should be increased, even though it would hurt taxpayers AND the national treasury.

HUH???
Maybe it was the drugs....

6. @5 And he wants to boost jobs, yet wants to pass cap and tax, which would destroy them. And he wants to make health care affordable, yet wants to pass "reform" which will raise costs for everyone (except his union buddies). HopeNChange!

7. If you want to raise some serious cash, and I'm talking billions, do a one-time asset-tax on people like Bill Gates. Say 25%. Then we can revisit that next year as well. Make the filthy rich pay their fair share!

8. hmmmm @3: your comment is both off-topic, and stupid. Further nonsense will be deleted.
