"GOP caucus bans state Sen. Pam Roach, tells her to get anger counseling"
State Sen. Pam Roach, R-Auburn, has been banned from the Senate Republican caucus after colleagues told her she has repeatedly mistreated staff and should get counseling to manage her anger.Fortunately, there are no new reports of any Senator's buttocks thrust into a different Senator's face. Let's just hope that the Senate Republicans have enough sense this year not to try to outplace Roach into a more responsible office. Posted by Stefan Sharkansky at January 30, 2010 12:50 PM | Email ThisA letter sent to Roach by Senate GOP leaders said an internal investigation had concluded "it would be best to physically separate you from the caucus staff and from other Republican Senators while we are working on the floor."

We shouldn't defend republican leaders who have such blatant faults and moral shortcomings just because they happen to be right about their politics. I mean, we throw adulterers under the bus at the drop of the hat, but the pathologically insane, some just feel the need to defend. Crazy logic.
Posted by: AD on January 30, 2010 04:23 PMFrankly I prefer that over most of the two faced politicians I've met over the years. At least with her you know right up front what you are getting.

(like Eyman)!!!
The voters of the 31st should do the same next time around.
Posted by: jimg on January 31, 2010 11:46 AM16th District Republican State Senator Mike Hewitt of Walla Walla was in several positions of leadership in the Washington State Senate in 2006 when I ran against 37th District Democrat State Senator Adam Kline.
It was the leadership of the Washington State Senate Republican Caucus that, in collusion with the leadership of the King County Republican Party, Michael Young and Lori Sotelo, and the leadership of the Washington State Republican Party, Diane Tebelius, that would not allow mention of my being the Republican Candidate for the 37th District seat held by Adam Kline in any of the Party listings of Republican candidates in that years election, giving de facto support to Adam Kline who at best is a small 'c' Communist. This included the Mainstream Republicans of which Hewitt is an active member and as is Luke Esser, then a 48th District Republican State Senator and the Republican minority floor leader.
Refusing to endorse a Conservative Republican, refusing to provide party funds and refusing to allow access to Voter Vault for the 37th District is to be expected of the liberal leadership of the King County and Washington State Republican Party as they have a liberal agenda and it is in their personal interest to not have Conservatives elected and therefore in their Caucus.
But to prevent the mention of the Republican Candidate on any and all Party web sites and publications is Leftist and is more in keeping with Party purges by the Left, whether it is the Communists or the Fascists.
Which brings me back to Mike Hewitt.
Posted by: Brian Thomas on January 31, 2010 01:21 PMPam Roach has always been seen as a populist and of course what the county clubbers out there fear the most is the populace the tax payers getting all riled up.
This should not only be seen as an attack against Roach but an attack against everything the tea party movement stands for. This is just the most recent attack by Evans Republicans against the grassroot conservatives.
The GOP has just blown it in Washington State. The Tea Partiers will take this as a message. A message that while of course the GOP will take them of their votes, they will not, will not support what they stand for. The Republican Party of Washington state, the establishment of that organization is progressive to the core and WILL DESTROY anyone who wants to change that.

Posted by: Sean on January 31, 2010 03:06 PMBut yeah they are practicing a scorched earth policy putting a match to anything that stands in their way.
Posted by: Sean on January 31, 2010 03:10 PMI think the state GOP leadership is in trouble real soon.
Posted by: Lysander on January 31, 2010 08:02 PMIt's how she's said to treat the people who work under her that's the real red flag.
Posted by: Ryan on January 31, 2010 11:46 PM"If it was only party leadership she didn't get along with, fine. It's how she's said to treat the people who work under her that's the real red flag."
Ryan:
"It's how she's said ....." Who said? And what was said?
If you think the people who work for the Leadership are creditable and objective, you are of their ilk.
Posted by: Brian Thomas on February 1, 2010 07:57 AMHe has some areas where he definitely disagrees with some GOP policies and I don't always agree with him either, but to call him a RINO is a little silly. Where it counts on the big issues like defense and taxes, he's exactly what we need in Washington DC.
I think Dave represents his district very well, and if you watch his votes, the times he tilts away from GOP mantra it's usually when his vote won't matter to the issue one way or ther other.
Lets save the RINO hunting for the likes of Olympia Snow and others that don't know when it's time to band together to do what needs to be done.
Posted by: johnny on February 1, 2010 01:02 PMIt has everything to do with a single senator who has shown time and time again she is abusive to both staff and fellow legislators.
Stop trying to defend the indefensible.

"Where it counts on the big issues like defense and taxes, .... "
Taxes like the Cap and Trade legislation which Dave Reichert for.
Posted by: Brian Thomas on February 1, 2010 09:31 PMWhen a liberal misbehaves, there are rarely consequences because they are rarely disciplined by their peers or the media.
When a conservative misbehaves, they are quickly admonished by their peers and publicly humiliated.
Posted by: Seabecker on February 2, 2010 10:30 AMWhat is your explanation for Dave Reichert's vote for the disastrous Tax and Trade legislation?
Reichert's explanation evidently was that no one told him not to. Do Reichert's constitutes that voted for him know that he expects them to now tell him what to do?
Posted by: Brian Thomas on February 2, 2010 08:11 PMThat was NOT a conservative vote.
Posted by: MSRedneck on February 3, 2010 07:39 PMThe Christian Coalitian was destroyed by an organization called Mainstream Republicans.
That's not a title for logical and calm, that's a Real Organization, with their own Real Website. They own the Washington State Republican Party. They brag about it. They hate conservatives more than they hate Democrats. Democrats are to be compromised with. Conservatives are to be hated.
I've got a temper, too.
