Yesterday's tax rallies in Olympia -- ASK EYMAN ABOUT IT

Delusional award: "This is incredible -- there's so many more of us than the other side," said Sen. Ed Murray, D-Seattle.

Attacking the messenger award: Eyman was the punching bag at the pro-tax rally -- "The American Revolution was about getting rid of a king. But somehow, Washington State ended up with King Tim," Murray said.

Unmentioned at their pro-tax-increase rally: voters have approved I-960's taxpayer protection policies 3 times.

Here's a great story about yesterday's tax rallies in Olympia.

See additional photos from the rallies here and here.

The most effective way for all of us to fight back ...

to read the rest, please click on 'Permalink' below or ...

... against their arrogant disregard for the voters is to help us get I-1053 on the ballot so voters can resurrect I-960's taxpayer protection policies.

I-960 protected us from BILLIONS in higher taxes for the past 2 years -- I-1053 will protect us for at least another 2.

I gathered over 1400 signatures yesterday, and handed out hundreds of blank petitions, but to qualify for the ballot, we must collect over 2000 signatures PER DAY EVERY DAY UNTIL THE JULY 2ND DEADLINE. That's not going to happen unless a WHOLE LOT of folks help us by collecting signatures and donating dollars.

Please, please, please -- don't let them get away with gutting I-960 -- help us bring it right back with this year's I-1053.

1. Murray is a fringe leftist, and therefore by definition is delusional.

But yesterday, it was like he was on drugs.

2. Teabaggers claimed 3000, FUSE washingon claimed 6000, both are inflated by like 300%

3. Seems Tim is not taking the "bait" by the opposition. He is taking names and is getting back by methodically getting signatures.

4. The Washington State Patrol did the estimating: 3,000 teabaggers and 6,000 revenue-ers.

Are the police delusional, too?

5. They are on the state payroll. What do you think? Add to that, they are union.

6. "Revenuers". That's funny. Since you have no problem using teabaggers, I'll go with Leeches.

7. response to #4: if there were more tax-takers than taxpayers, then I-960 wouldn't have passed, neither would have I-601 and R-49 (neither were 'ours'), nor I-695, I-747, or I-900.

Ed Murray is delusional if he thinks there are more of them than there are of us.

8. Tim, doesn't bother me if the Left wants to believe that there are more people seeking tax hikes than the other way around. Keeps them less motivated to actually make tax increases (via initiative anyway) a reality.

9. Laborgoon AKA David Groves the Communications Director for the Washington State Labor Council, nice to hear from you paid hack. How much are you pulling down per year to be a glorified blogger? I hope all of the brothers and sisters are getting their $100,000 a years worth from you.

11. #10. Revenue is not the problem. Looking for additional revenue is not the solution. What will you propose we tax when the state gobbles up and wastes the marijuana tax and falls short next time?

Again, low taxes are not the problem. Over-spending cannot be fixed by finding new ways to tax people.

12. Where is WA State's version of NJ Gov Chris Christie?

Hmmm, if Queen Christine has a pinch of ethics, morals, or responsibility, she would pull off a speech, and the follow through, that Chris Christie did yesterday.

Unfortunately, Queen Christine, UW sorority segregationist, career bureaucrat, bumbling admimistrator, drunk, has not after 60 years on this earth figured out.......anything. Pathetic.

Will WA follow the path of Michigan, New York, CA, New Jersey into a fiscal abyss?

13. I would like to say.. I was there! and there was NOT double the people at the socialist rally!!! both groups took up roughly the same space.. at least half the socialist group were collage age kids, the other half were in green shirts and obviously Union... the Freedom Socialist Party sign was prominent .. am I mistaken? or were they called National Socialist Party in Germany? and were most of them Unionized ? control of the most needy sounds familiar too humm ponders that one as you should too

14. Hey PI, I agree you are way off topic and I am correct about the "laborgoon" who fancies himself
some sort of modern day champion of labor. He is a real "working stiff" in the front office at the WSLC.

15. I wanted to go to the capital too but I HAD TO WORK!! Being a private sector business owner, I didn't have the luxury of having the holiday off WITH PAY like all of the state employees that were there. I'm pretty sure others were in the same boat I was in or there would have been MANY MANY more anti-tax people joining the 3,000 or so that were there.

Posted by: Rob on February 16, 2010 08:15 PM
16. I was there as well and the groups seemed pretty equal in size. There may have been a few more of the "revenuers" (how about "taxers"?), but not by much. I shot a few wide angle shots of the crowd you can see here:
http://www.slowdownalready.com/2010/02/tea-party-rally-in-olympia-wa.html

Also, Rob, yeah it was hard getting time off work for this, but it was totally worth it. Was great to be surrounded by reasonable people who don't like taxes nor somehow think they're good for the economy. Refreshing

17. Wow you mean to say in Olimpia were more than half of the residences are goverment employees. On a holiday that few get off, except government "workers". They were able to out draw people who had to take a day off without pay and likely do not live anywhere near Olimpia? I'm so shocked. They already know which way the wind is really blowing. It's delusional to think that this state needs higher taxes during a recession

19. More of you than them?

Then how come all these democrats get elected to serve in the state legislature?

Funny that your supporters keep electing people whom they disagree with...typical Eyman logic. Ignore reality and use hyberbole, faleshoods and blatant rabble rousing to generate inaccurate-induced hysteria.

Pays your bills though ... so guess it works, eh?

20. #19. How much of my income do you want me to pay in taxes? After which percentage will you claim is enough to not ask for anymore?

Thanks.

21. "This is incredible -- there's so many more of us than the other side," said Sen. Ed Murray, D-Seattle.

Perhaps that is because their turnout was mostly State employees that got the day off paid for by me because I was working.

22. What both Reps and Dems don't understand is that the people of Washington have a dislike of government that carries over from pioneer days. Washington people tend to be more Libertarian the further away you go from the I-5 counties, that is, Snohomish, King, Pierce and Thurston Couties.

Dems will argue that most taxes are collected in those counties, and they'd be correct. However, those screaming for a state income tax (and every other tax they can think of) aren't the same ones who actually pay the biggest part of the taxes collected in the I-5 counties. Most people are middle-of-the-road to right-of-center in their cultural and political beliefs. They are also the generators of most of the wealth, which is the solurce of all tax revenues, no matter where you live!

25. Let's see. My hours are reduced at work and my income is lowered, creating a big budget defecit. What do I do?

Everything I have been paying for is critical - I just gotta have it.

I know, I'll use the government approach.

I'll add HBO and Showtime to my cable line up. I'll replace my car with a new one. I'll hire someone to do my yardwork, I'll plan a trip to Disneyland.

Oops, looks like I have a bigger budget defecit.

Guess I'll go to my employer and tell them they have to pay me more - they have no choice - because I have cut to the bone and now all that can help me is a pay raise - a revenue increase. If they refuse, I'll get the police to confiscate their property until I'm sufficiently covered.

Hey, I think this will catch on big - I like the government approach.
