Priorities of Government, Pierce County-style

What would happen to our civilization without Pierce County's Thin Blue Line?

Pierce County prosecutors on Tuesday filed a misdemeanor charge of unlawful public exposure against a bikini barista spotted last year serving coffee while wearing only pasties on her breasts.
This raises the bar on Seattle's Hand Job Task Force.

1. I find it interesting that the same police/court/criminal justice system through which a Ridgeway or Clemmons is processed is used to process a case of partially exposed bosom in a coffee shop.

Even if we want to ban the bikini baristas, can't we find a better way to handle it (no pun intended) here in the enlightened NW?

2. Hmmm. Wearing only pasties on her breasts? Nothing else? No wonder... :-o

3. Wonder if it took months of investigating?

I'm sure they had to keep going back to make sure they had enough evidence.

4. Yeah... given the choice between taking on the Hilltop Crips or observing a semi-nude barista? Volunteers?

5. I feel so much safer now . . .

Apparently, the cops' budget needs to be chopped, too.

6. It's laudable for real conservatives to decry these heavy-handed, moralistic intrusions. Stefan is on the right track and of the right mind. Sadly, the GOP needs to play catch-up.

Case in point: why not drop the equally moralistic rhetoric/legislative action against gays? It can't reasonably be said that straights should have personal freedom and autonomy while also maintaining hardcore, obstinate opposition to committed gay couples, based solely (it seems) on a visceral discomfort with what they (may or may not) do in the privacy of their homes.

The GOP can be about freedom, or it can't. It's a binary equation. It's a simple choice (though hardly easy). Let's place our bets and go all in. No need to get moderate when it comes to freedom, right?
