Your tax dollars at work

Breaking news from the Colacurcio strip club / alleged prostitution trial. An attorney for one of the defendants claimed that:

investigatory reports show one undercover officer spent at least $16,835 buying more than 130 lap dances without making a single arrest.
The usual joke about "nice work if you can get it" would seem to no longer apply after, say, at most 4 or 5 ecdysiastic experiences. But 130?

That suggests a riddle: "Q: What's bluer than a Seattle sky?"

(The punchline is left as an exercise to the reader. )

Now did those terpsichorean work sessions take place at a rate of, say, 2-3 times a week for a 1 year, or once a week for 2 1/2 years?

$16,835. $130 per, um, inspection, and no evidence to justify an arrest? The guy I'd like to meet is the supervising officer who kept signing off on those expense reports.

It's probably not his fault. The "officer" probably submitted them under "Laundry" or "Ammo" or, more appropriately "Personal Development".

5. The only difference between cops and criminals is the uniform.

Apparently this Cop's balls.

7. As a longtime customer of Rick's (though I have not bothered to attend since the great raid of 2008--just not worth it anymore) something is really wrong with the numbers here. The Seattle Times version gives slightly different numbers. It is possible that there is missing information in the reporting.

If not I have to suspect that some of that cash was pocketed by the cop, not spent on lap dances. The strippers do not issue receipts for lap dances so it would be tough to track what happened to the cash--all tax dollars, of course.

8. Q: What's bluer than a Seattle sky?

lol@cliff--another possible answer: the noses of the Seattle mayor & city council.

I always find it an irony that Texas and FL are both strip club meccas--last I checked, ranked 1 and 2 in strip clubs per capita. The two states that gave us GW and Jeb. I run into a ton of people who hate and fear Republicans because 'I don't want the government in my bedroom' yet the reality is that Democrats are bigger prudes by far.

10. So 130 lap dances and he could not get at least a rise out of his job,oh I mean an arrest, good grief, methinks his uniform is not the only "blue" device he needs to do his job!

11. Actually, travis, Texas is nowhere near the top of the list, and Florida is not even in the top ten. In fact, there's no red state/blue state correlation at all. Try again

12. You may have me there Joe. I read that several years ago in either the PI or Times that Texas and FL were ranked #1 and #2. It is possible that his has changed or that there are different ways to measure. I find it incredible that Missouri is ranked ahead of Texas. I used to live in Missouri. I can't say about KC area, but there are virtually no strip clubs in St. Louis.

Interesting from your list is that Washington DC is ranked #2 (lot of demand for strippers among those running the country, apparently. Not sure if that is good or bad). Also Washington State is 50 out of 51.
