Need A Feel-Good Story?

(I do.)  Here's a love story, which I found in the sports pages of the New York Times.

The story begins with Anthony Johnson proposing, with a most unusual ring, to Shaunte Nance.  And it gets better from there.

My best wishes to Shaunte and Anthony.  And I hope that they continue to have success and happiness together.

2. Nice story, Jim. This should be heralded as a real example for the black community rather than the status quo of 'blaming whitey' for the 70% out of wedlock birthrate and rampant 'father' absenteeism currently experienced in the community. Of course, as long as you have 'community leaders' like Jackson, Sharpton, Farahkan, leading the way, I can't say the future looks any brighter for this segment of American society as a whole.

3. Why is that I have to have some sort of leadership because I'm black Mr. Rick? Not one of those people speak for me or my family, but somehow, whites think they represent me and that is truly discouraging. Here Mr. Miller presents a good story and you want to turn it into a fact finding frenzy, coupled with "Of course, as long as you have 'community leaders' like Jackson, Sharpton, Farahkan, leading the way, I can't say the future looks any brighter for this segment of American society as a whole". Seriously, I'd rather hear you say that you think ALL black people are dumb, as opposed to your cryptic/coded language of: "THIS SEGMENT OF AMERICAN SOCIETY". What BS, but I know you believe it and it is truly amazing that you think that way in 2010.
