What effect will the new health care legislation have on us? Get some answers next Tuesday and enjoy a free lunch as well!

I don't think anyone can truly answer that, not Obama, not Pelosi, not John Boehner, not Scott Brown and certainly not I. There's just too much unknown and while my knowledge of policy and history lead me to believe that this won't bring about positive change I don't have a clue just how bad or not bad it might be. No doubt for some segment of America it will be a win, for others a terrible loss. So all we can do is listen to people and come our own conclusions. And some of these people undoubtedly know more than others.

Next Tuesday at noon at the Columbia Tower Club you're invited to the Rotary Club of Seattle Skyline's Spring Open House. Our speaker will be, Alicia Scalzo Wilmoth, in-house benefits counsel for benefits and insurance provider Kibble & Prentice. She will be providing her expert opinion on just how the new legislation will affect small businesses. She has no agenda so this will be, as far as I know, as unbiased a presentation as is possible. Just the facts, ma'am.

And even if you're not all that interested in what she has to say Skyline Rotary is providing a great lunch and a great view all at no cost to you. This is one time when there really is such a thing as a FREE lunch.

You MUST RSVP by Monday at 3pm though so we have an accurate headcount. Please do so by emailing Skyline Rotary the names of the people who wish to attend. Their email address is info@seattleskylinerotary.org.

1. My premiums will go down $2,500 a year. He told me so. If I was a company, they'd go down 3,000%. He told me so.

2. Maybe the same effect his mortgage bailout plan had:

"New-home sales sink to record low"

3. Another affect will be bankruptcy. Today's treasury auction was bad. Investors don't want to buy our debt now that we passed the "Repeal America Act".

"Jefferies' Chief Financial Economist Ward McCarthy agreed with his colleague and told CNBC, "There's a lot of concern about what's happening on a fiscal basis. We have enormous budget deficiencies, and Congress and the Administration really have done nothing to address that. In fact, the recent legislation on health care is going to increase our budget deficits by over a trillion dollars."

When nobody will lend us money, what do you liberals plan to do then? I'm serious. Confiscate everyone's property?

6. Affect? Seriously? Is that representative of the quality of blog posts here?

Diction...grammar. Who needs it.

Check your spacing.

8. MikeBoyScout, what's your point?

Mrs. Hmmm, thanks for correcting my grammar. It takes a real big mind to focus on such minutiae rather than the point of the article, which, BTW, had no other point other than inviting people to lunch at the Columbia Tower Club. I do have to make one other amendment to the above post: anyone is invited EXCEPT for grammar NAZIs.
