Setting an example

Superintendent of Public Instruction Randy Dorn has "apologized" for his recent DUI incident.

Among Dorn's duties as SPI is the administration of "juvenile alcohol and drug prevention programs for kindergarten through third grade", funded by liquor license fees. Well he is uniquely qualified.

Meanwhile, experts are telling the press that Dorn can "weather the storm" and "survive the controversy".

That's quite a lesson, boys and girls!

1. Perhaps we should have a zero tolerance DUI policy for teachers and administrators in the public school system.

At least, Washington schools seem to be very fond of zero tolerance policies for the kids - why not the adults?

6. Of course Dorn can get off with an aplogy, he's a Democrat. And in this state, that's as good as a free pass on being held accountable for your actions. - See Bobbi "bumper cars" Bridges for example -

Next thing you'll be telling us that Ballard Hight school whisked a 15 year old girl to the hospital to have a major surgery (abortion) without notifying the parents or seeking parental consent...Oh, Wait...

Welcome to liberalism, where parents are secondary to government officials.

7. RickD, sorry to burst your paranoid partisan bubble (and I'm not defending any of these characters), but Jane Hague (R) got off, too.

8. What do you expect from a guy who let a criminal buy him a house in a fancy neighborhood, and another criminal write a book for him. Obama has little integrity. Or how about Pelosi who jets back and forth across the country to the tune of a huge taxpayer bill for jet fuel and a new plane so she would not have to stop to refuel.

Compare and contrast with Paul Ryan (R) WI, who sleeps in a cot in his own office in D.C. to save himself, and taxpayers a lot of money.

We need to get rid of the politicians, of either stripe, who view themselves as royalty. Starting with Obama and Pelosi. Reid looks like he's already assured his defeat.

9. @ 7 Bruce. Yeah, right, I'm paranoid...Let's have you compile your list of Republcian law offenders in this state that get off scott free and I'll compile mine of Democrats. You know what I stated is fact, but you just can't let the truth get in the way of your rigid party allegiance.

10. Ah, yet another "teaching moment" brought to students by Progressive policies.

Can you smell the love? Or is that the stench of hypocrisy?
