McKenna and the People v. The Democrats and Health Care Deform

AG Rob McKenna in Q&A with the Christian Science Monitor re: the state AGs' lawsuit against Obamacare's unconstitutional mandate to buy insurance.

Former U.S. Senator and state AG Slade Gorton explains why McKenna is justified to join the multistate lawsuit, despite objections by Mrs. Gregoire and Democrats in the Legislature.

Meanwhile, per SurveyUSA, on scales of 1-10, 53% of Washingtonians rate their own understanding of Obamacare a minimal 1-3 (mode=1); 59% rate their current health care between 6-10 (mode=8), yet 63% expect the quality of their Obamacare to fall to between 1-5 (mode=1). Hope and Change!

Unsurprisingly, the people support McKenna's participation in the pro-consumer/pro-constitution lawsuit 44%-40%.

Nevertheless, Mrs. Gregoire and Democrat legislators are acting to block McKenna's support for the lawsuit. At their peril. McKenna and the lawsuit are more popular than they are. Gregoire's approval rating is 31%. The Legislature's is 20%.

1. Insanity...Microsoft might be getting big time license and royalty fees since there is no requirement to use open document formats or open source software...and we all know the home state of Microsoft...I wish him well.

4. Queen Christine has forgotten her role. If her foolish ass wants to weigh in on legal matters of the state, she should quit your current job (that she's failing at miserably) and run for the elected office of AG.

There is a way to add your input, Governor, but stupidly inserting your inane and non legal reasoning into this matter is not. Get a clue!

5. What is Gregoire's problem ? This is a fight for the Statist Democrats showing that they are blinded by their ideology. They are going against the will of the people who understand.

6. The people are with Rob McKenna! The democrats are against the people!

7. Gregoire had no problem spending AG money on multi-state lawsuits when SHE was in the AG chair. i bet she would have FLIPPED OUT if the legislature tried this crap on HER.

8. BTW, I'm pretty sure Microsoft is totally left-wing and supports Obamacare. That's my experience.

9. I was there yesterday, and the WSP estimated 2000 or more. They have specific guidelines and charts to determine the numbers.

That was with two days notice.

Meanwhile, the leftist Olympian reports 850.

10. Imagine the legislature attempting to "defund" the Supreme Court, all constitutionally elected positions, that was about to hear a case that majority party disagreed with.

11. Crusader, Microsoft has been left wing, but ironically they are the fastest growing corporation in Nevada. Plan B?

14. I put attendance between 3-4k yesterday. The comments in the Olympian were vicious- I mean totally unhinged lefties on parade. What are they are afraid of? If congress acted within the constitution, I'm sure their "wise latina woman" at the SCOTUS will rule accordingly.

This event was remarkable; McKenna supporters who showed up are not the sort of people who like to spend their Saturdays protesting.

Again- photos posted over at Thurston Pundits if you missed it.

15. Defuding may not help. McKenna says costs will be minimal since Florida is leading the effort.

I'd bet it'll be less that Gregoire lost by not responding to law suits when she was AG.

17. @ 2
every country (except maybe somalia) regulates industries large and small. what is it about changing regulations that makes it a government takeover of the economy? is it the non-existent ublic option?

18. I find it telling that Fidel Castro is saying that he thinks this "health care" law is a good thing. Sort of tells you what direction we are headed in no matter how much the lefties deny it.

I wonder when President Neophyte will head down to Cuba to bow to Castro and thank him for his support?

19. It is probable that the mandatory enforcement was purposely left out of the bill. This has been documented on biggovernment.com, on powerline and also in a separate post on SP. If so, this would throw a damper on the law suit proposed by Rob McKenna and 14 other AG's. I am waiting to hear from someone involved in this lawsuit soon about this unexpected turn of events.

Why did this happen ? Most likely a screwup by the lobbyists red-diaper doper baby lawyers that wrote this toxic garbage. What are the effects ? The system would collapse sooner due to lack of revenue and necessitate single payer. Diabolical ! That ought to intensify that motivation to repeal and replace after Jan. 2013, only if the Tea Party, conservatives and independents get out in front of this travesty and do what needs to be done in November.

20. I went to the rally Saturday and the violent teaparty group sang "God Bless America", then we said the Pledge of Allegiance and some local pastor said a prayer. At the moment the pastor finished, a big Bald Eagle flew right in front of the crowd about 100 feet above! It gave everyone goose bumps! Everyone cheered! Maybe theres hope!
