If ever there was an truly ridiculous euphemism, it is the term Progressive. The facts abound.

Watch how the wheels are now coming off the Obama campaign. What motivates such a defective ideology? As Senator Obama, his wife and reverend have helpfully peeled back the layers of their hateful onion, we peer in awe at the narcissistic Progressive psyche. But what is even more dumfounding is the built in self-destruct mechanism of the Progressive ideology. It is simply fascinating, that anyone would subscribe to such an outright failure, let alone rest Presidential hopes upon such a laughable philosophy.

Senator Obama simply had nothing there. Beneath the shallow rhetoric of hope and change, there is only a few poorly planned socialist schemes, and general bigoted disdain for the freedom and capitalism that has objectively made himself and this country wealthy and successful. And the same is true for every other major Progressive.

Need more examples?

Look at all of the major Progressive social policies. Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security. Or the proposed policy of Universal Health Care. These are abject failures. Trillion dollar debacles. Costs that make even the wealth of Gates and Buffet, nay even the wealth of the USA, look like chump change. And yet Progressive persist in telling us that these are workable plans, that will be successful if we only pour in more tax dollars stolen from the current generation's "rich."

Transportation? Massive billion dollar light rails boondoggles all throughout the US. And yet still gridlock on the highways of the same major cities that have fallen for the ruse.

How about Climate Hysteria? Gore is building the mother of all meltdowns. It's simply unbelievable to watch him plod on, in the face of physics on a planetary and solar system wide scale which are working against him. I'd happily bet anyone my house that Climate Hysteria will amount to nothing much, and certainly not an apocalyptic crisis within my remaining lifetime. There is abundant information that shows the sun is simply going in to a minimum, and yet Progressives like Nasa's James Hansen continue to fudge numbers and cross their fingers that their foolish little scheme will pull through. Who bets against the Sun? I mean really? That's just a jaw-dropper.

I guess you have to admire the audacity of these folks. Only fools waste so much of their own time and effort trying desperately to control other people, and economic and physical forces that are far beyond their grasp. And only fools continue to believe in a philosophy that is incompatible with human nature, and so negative. Progressivism's gun-to-the-head style authoritarianism might hold a few people hostage for a while, but like radical Islam, it's going to be short lived. They can't kill us all, or tax us all in to a winning strategy. It's just not possible. How's crushing Tibetan dissent working out for China? How's about driving all of the farmers out of Zimbabwe for Mugabe? Castro's Cuba, another Progressive success right?

Or take Hollywood, making failed anti-American war movies one after the other. This is just mind-boggling. Throwing good money after bad again and again. Isn't this the definition of insanity? These movies are grossing in the hundred thousand dollar range while their competition is in the hundred million dollar range. Do they care that they are failing. Who's losing the money on these bad investments?

Or how about Progressive radio? Yeah, there's another huge success. Even in a sea of blind zombie Progressivism like Seattle, a show like David Goldstein's can't even manage to succeed in an otherwise empty time slot. Al Franken failed, Janeane Garofalo failed, Randi Rhodes got fired, etc. Maybe Seattle's not as full of blind zombies as these people assume.

But it really all makes sense. If you base your philosophy on such a failed reality, you have two choices. You can either self-destruct, or wait for reality to bankrupt you. There's no succeeding. You can pretend that somehow the money to pay for Universal Healthcare, and the ridership of Sound Transit is going to keep on growing like Al Gore's hockey stick graph, but somewhere deep inside you know it's just not true. So, either you continue to ignore reality until it proves you wrong, or you start lashing out to the point that you lose all credibility and effectively brand yourself as a loon. When you build on sand, you are screwed.

And that's what Progressivism is, philosophical sand. There's nothing progress oriented about it. Progressivism is getting its adherents nowhere. Sure there's the short term gain of a little power in government here or there, the scammers like Gore who will make money off of ethanol before that market collapses, etc. But long term, it's guaranteed to fail. You can't legislate success or reality. And you can't force people in to success. Progressivism exists only as long as it is able to temporarily convince some people that they will get a free lunch by signing up for the time share.

Lastly, before some wise-ass responds with a strawman argument about how Republicans are bad too, yada, yada, let me say I'm not excusing any Republicans or conservative failures. Those are failures too. I'm just pointing out that the ridiculously rosy picture painted of the coming Progressive utopia is nothing more than a big joke on you if you believe.
