Look, we already know that Queen Chrissy is owned by the Tribes like the 13th Amendment was never adopted and Mr. Lincoln, in fact, did not ever utter the Emancipation Proclamation.
But her despicable ad concerning stem cell research and Rossi? That's as over the top as any of the myriad lies that OhDrama puts out every day... and twice on Sunday. And when the Seattle Times calls you on it (even though their reproof, if present, was so subtle as to be almost non-existent) then it's quite the series of lies, indeed.
In the piece "Gregoire stem-cell ad doesn't tell whole story" it's pointed out that: "The ad makes it sound like Rossi opposes all stem-cell research. His campaign said that's not true, noting that Rossi does support research using adult stem cells. But he opposes research using embryonic stem cells, which are collected from embryos that are destroyed in the process.
"Adult-stem-cell research is where all the advances have come from," Rossi has said. "I've been supportive of adult-stem-cell research but not embryonic. There is a distinction between the two because one has promise, and one doesn't." and
Jill Strait, a spokeswoman for Rossi, contends that Gregoire "has done nothing to advance stem-cell research over the last four years and there's no reason to believe she'll do anything in the next four."
She said the Life Sciences Discovery Fund, created by Gregoire to fund health research in the state, has not awarded any grants dealing with stem-cell research.
The Gregoire campaign issued a statement saying that in two years the Discovery Fund has made 17 grants to Washington-based scientists, totaling $31.5 million.
"While no grants have gone to stem-cell researchers, there have been applications from stem-cell researchers and we expect more," the campaign said. "This is a 10-year, $350 million investment."
"While NO GRANTS HAVE GONE TO STEM-CELL RESEARCHERS," EVEN THOUGH THEY'VE APPLIED???????
The reeking hypocrisy of it all tilts the stunometer.
She attacks Rossi for opposing first, any stem cell research and then second, embryonic stem cell research while she has done absolutely nothing to further either?
I'm blowing chunks here, Queenie.
And then you lie directly through your tooth on yet another of your favorite issues: tax increases.
In 2004, you told us that "tax increases should go to a vote of the people." You told us that you wouldn't RAISE taxes without a vote of the people.
Well, you lied. Among others, you raised the gas tax... without a vote of the people.
And now, you expect us to believe you when your people spew: "Gregoire's campaign said the governor has stated repeatedly that any proposed tax increase "should go to a vote of the people."
Why should we believe you now when you've lied to us so much in the past?
"The governor also has said nobody should be talking about taxes now, given turmoil in the economy."
Queenie, you've got to understand: this entire sentence was inaccurately written. What you MEANT to say was : nobody in my campaign should be talking about raising taxes now, unless I'm re-elected governor, given turmoil in the economy."
Chrissykins, up until the last few days, you were trying to get us to believe this state was operating on a budget SURPLUS, and not the huge, multi-billion dollar deficit that you, Frank and Lisa were kind enough to engineer for us.
Of COURSE we need to talk about taxes and tax increases now. Never mind that we would have received enough from the tribes over the next 4 years to make up for the most recently announced shortfall of $500 million had you not bent over like a two bit prostitute, screwing the entire state.
YOU certainly aren't going to cut the budget enough to get rid of this shortfall. The state employees and teachers COMPLETELY own that part of your ass already not staked out by the tribes, and that is about the only discretionary spending available TO cut.
And THAT means that you WILL raise our taxes... and raise them a LOT. You just lack the courage and character to tell the truth for once, in the hopes that we'll re-elect you so you can screw us all again like you did during this past 4 years.
